I want to say, my life is now... NOT PEACEFUL AT ALL. Aghhhhhh! Why is this happening? Alright, alright... Let me explain.
So, as you guys know, my mom decided to adopt Miko and Akira as her children. Suddenly, I had a little brother and a sister. At first, it was overwhelming, but a month has passed since then, and they've started to settle into our home. Despite this, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I had Yashiro look into their background, hoping to find some answers. The only thing we discovered was that they belong to the Hakushin clan, one of the major kitsune clans in Inazuma. This should have made things easier since most of my mother's followers are from the Hakushin clan, including her head maiden, Miss Amano. But when I asked Miss Amano about them, she just looked puzzled and said she didn't know anything about them or had ever heard of them. It was so frustrating! We were getting nowhere.
Apparently, Saiguu is from the Hakushin clan. Actually, she is the daughter of the Hakushin clan leader. She often comes here because she is one of my mother's students—the brightest one after me. Hey... I'm telling the truth! Anyway, she and I became best friends in no time. She also delivered messages between me, Ei, and Makoto. When I told her about Miko's and Akira's mysterious background, she offered to look into their past. So, I asked her to do it. After some digging, she found... nothing at all.
"As you can see, they're like ghosts or something. No origin at all," Saiguu said, looking as puzzled as I felt.
"Hey, we know they are from your clan. They had parents," I insisted. We were discussing this one evening while Miko was playing with Saiguu's tail. Miko loves Saiguu; to Miko, Saiguu is like a big sister. Meanwhile, Akira was training with my grandfather, Akihiko. He came here right after my mother sent the message. Actually, they were destroying the entire training area. When they first met, Akira was a little bit scared. But now, he has gotten used to my grandpa... or... he literally started to act like my grandfather now.
What could go worse, right? It's like having two overly excited huskies—one the size of a bull and the other the size of a calf. They howl in the middle of the night, destroy things... absolute chaos. But after my mother's stern scolding, they now train in the designated training area and even sleep outside. Don't worry... they can both transform now. Grandpa Akihiko taught Akira how to transform into a giant, bull-sized, ash-coloured wolf. My grandfather's fox form is enormous; he literally looks like a giant, fur-covered mountain when he transforms. So, they won't catch cold. Plus, it's all part of Akira's training.
As for Miko, she became my cute little sister who always listens to me and follows me everywhere I go. She started learning under my mother and turned out to be a fast learner. When she isn't studying, she plays with me or helps with my crafting experiments. A few days ago, I created a pair of earrings for her. She liked them but cried a lot when my mother pierced her ears for them. Eventually, she calmed down and started to love them. Now, she keeps asking me to make more for her.
Oh... I almost forgot. Miko has an Electro Vision. Hey, don't blame me. We found out the day she first transformed. She had been hiding it, and when she finally showed us... well, I think I don't need to explain what happened after that. Also, something strange is going on with Celestia's Vision distribution company. It looks like they're in a promotion season—almost one in five people has a Vision these days. The Heavenly Principles are giving out Visions like it's a "buy one, get one free" deal at my favorite restaurant. I feel a little uneasy about this, though I don't know why. Whatever, it's not my problem. I have enough problems to deal with.
The thing is, Miko always forgets about her Vision. She's just a little girl and doesn't understand how dangerous it can be. So, when I created earrings for her, I embedded her Vision into her right earring. Now she won't lose it. I'm already planning to make a weapon for her because sometimes she electrocutes me without knowing how to control her power. I can't give her a sword or something like that, so I decided to make a Catalyst. When I showed Saiguu the blueprint, she named it Kagura's Verity. Let's go with that name. Since Saiguu also has an Electro Vision, she has been helping Miko learn to control her powers.
For Akira... as I told you before, I DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. Just say he just... never mind.
"Rest easy. Yashiro and I will find out about their past," Saiguu reassured me, then started to play with Miko.
"Also, I have a message from Ei and Makoto," she added.
"What? You just gave me their letters, and there's more?" I asked, feeling a mix of curiosity and exasperation.
"Well, Ei said, 'Tell this to his face,' and Makoto agreed with her," Saiguu replied.
"Okay, what did they say?" I asked, bracing myself.
"Ei said, 'Shahasra, if you cut your ponytail off, I will cut your neck.' And Makoto added, 'I will lend Musou Isshin to Ei to do that.' She had a scary expression on her face. You know what I mean," Saiguu replied.
Crap, I was seriously considering cutting my ponytail and hair because it was a hassle for me. Most samurai cut their hair in a specific way that helps maintain their helmets without falling off in battle. But these days, girls find this style ugly. So, I wrote to Ei and Makoto asking their opinion. Looks like I got my answer.
"Tell them I won't," I replied to Saiguu, who couldn't stop laughing. Miko was laughing with her.
"I will, I will. But you know, I am a girl too, and most girls find your hairstyle handsome on you," Saiguu said with a teasing smile.
"Whatever, I don't care," I replied, trying to sound indifferent.
"You know, young master," Saiguu said as she stood up, "you are a prodigy. I'm looking forward to living in an Inazuma ruled by you." She looked at me with admiration.
