I was standing in the guest bathroom, Exhausted from the night before. I'd gotten Little to no sleep. I got myself ready for training, went downstairs to grab some fruit, and headed out the door. I'd locked Lucy and Keira's house door, as they'd already left much earlier for a little breakfast date.

Once I'd arrived at Barcelona's training center I signed myself in at the desk and waited for Jonatan Giraldez, The manager of Barcelona. He eventually came out of his office alongside one of the athletic directors.

"Ah, you must be Hudson," Jonatan said as he held his hand out for me to shake.

"I am," I said while shaking his hand.

"I've heard amazing things about you." he chuckled a bit. "I'm glad We could steal you away from Arsenal this season." He said while walking me into this room with a big Barcelona crest on the wall.

"I've heard amazing things about you all the way in London, Mr.Giraldez," I said amazed at what he's achieved in his 4 years here in Barcelona.

"Please, Call me Jona. I guess we both know a thing or two about each other. Are you ready to become a Culer?" He said as he handed me a pen and the contract.

I just shook my head and nodded. I was excited, but at the same time, I missed everything I had built in London. But I suppose if I give it time, I'll also have built something here. I took the pen and wrote my name in perfect cursive. It was official.

"Alright, We've got a press conference to do, and then meeting the team, Sound good?" Jonatan said.

"Alright," I said nodding in confirmation.  We began walking to the conference room, and as we walked Jonatan gave me some knowledge of Barcelona's history. I entered the conference room and nothing new, Lights flashed and blinded me. Once I found my seat next to Jonatan, after feeling like I walked the red carpet trying to find my chair, the questions started flowing, mainly for Jonatan and his decision to bring me in.

"Hudson!" A male reporter asked. "Why are you signing for one year at Barca, Instead of long term?  Are you in doubt about Mr.Giraldez as a coach?" He added. Putting words in my mouth, that's one way to piss me off. But I kept my cool. Not wanting to make a bad image of myself.

" I can tell you that I'm far away from the thought about Jonatan being a bad coach. I believe he is one of the best, He's led this team to achieve great things. I believe winning a 3rd Champions League will be one of them this year. As for me being here for a short term, No matter what, I'm now a part of this family, So I'm going to give my 110% going into the 2023/24 season" I finished off, and then I and Jona had to the locker room.

Jona knocked and when he got the clear, We walked into a locker to find the Barcelona champs. "Before you all head out, I want you all to meet our newest signing, Hudson Morgan!" After he said that all you heard was Mapi squeal. She began charging towards me for a hug wrapping around me like a kowla, and right then and there I knew I would like her.

After I'd met everyone and shook hands with the champions of Europe all except one, Jana.  I couldn't wait to start training. So I could take my mind off Jill.  It was all that was running through my head throughout the day. Something I couldn't ease the nerves to.

*The next day*

I walked through the Breakfast line talking to Mapi about how nervous I was about training. We found our table and sat alone.

"You know, I've seen you play, I think you'll do just fine in training. Plus I can help you understand the drills if you don't." Mapi spoke.

"I appreciate it, Maybe we could hit the gym after together?" I asked Mapi.

"I've been dreaming for you to ask that!" She said hugging me.  "Can't wait to rub this in Lucy's face." She laughed as she walked to dump her tray.

We walked to the pitch and Lucy jogged up to walk with me.

"Nervous?" She asked.

"Nah, I think I got this," I said trying to convince myself as well.

"Go crush it." She hit my shoulder lightly.

We began stretching and doing passing drills warming up. I could have sworn Jana was staring at me. I brushed it off though. Jona eventually called us into a circle and told the next drill. Basically, all you have to do is get past your defender, but we all go one at a time against one defender, and then switch defenders at the end of the round.

Irene was the first defender and I was the first attacker. I did a simple nutmeg through Irene's legs and ran around her dribbling away with the ball. Jona clapped and I went back and gave Irene a high five and a pat on the back. Irene took her place again and went through the whole line.

I took my spot as Number One in the line back and the second defender was up, It was Jana. I shook the weird feeling that I had off and took another deep breath. I began running at Jana at full pace planning on just spinning around her. During the middle of my spin, I felt an impact on my knee. I fell hitting my chin first on the grass. The same pain that ran through my leg the night Of the Manchester game, was back. The numbness spills its way back into my body.

I'd felt the medics trying to flip me over onto the stretcher. But I just couldn't think straight.

*5 hours later*

I was limping out of the hospital with my brace and cane. I took a seat on the bench that was just outside the automatic doors, waiting for my taxi. I'd hopped in the taxi giving him directions to Lucy's house. He'd dropped me off at the beginning of the driveway, leaving me a whole long way to walk. I laughed as I remembered this was how I met Ruth, Except I was in England.  Oh how far I've come, all because of a girl.
