After agreeing to live with Luka, a mixture of anticipation and apprehension swirls within me. As we spend more time together, I find myself seeking solace in the familiarity of my phone, only to be confronted with Sam's absence.

My heart sinks, and I can't shake the worry gnawing at my mind.

Turning to Luka for answers proves futile. "Luka, do you know why Sam is gone from my phone?" I ask and he just shrugs.

His stoic facade remains unyielding, leaving me with more questions than answers. Desperate for clarity,

I turn to Volcov, hoping he might shed some light on the situation. "Sounds like my brother, making sure no one even gets the chance to touch his beloved."

However, his cryptic response only adds to my confusion, leaving me to wonder about Sam's whereabouts.

"What is that suppose to mean" I ask, but he just chuckles to himself as if he laughing to an inside job.

Despite the uncertainty clouding my thoughts, Luka remains steadfast in his efforts to distract me. His unexpected suggestion of ring shopping catches me off guard, yet I can't deny the flutter of excitement in my chest at the prospect of his commitment.

As we browse through the dazzling displays of jewelry, I can't help but feel a pang of guilt for enjoying the moment while Sam's absence weighs heavily on my conscience.

Nevertheless, Luka's unwavering attention and affection offer a temporary respite from my worries, allowing me to lose myself in the excitement of the moment.

Determined to make me feel at home in his world, Luka insists on a shopping spree for new clothing. With each carefully chosen garment, he seems intent on not just dressing me, but transforming me into someone worthy of his affection.

Despite my lingering doubts, I find myself succumbing to the allure of his attention, cherishing the brief moments of happiness amidst the uncertainty that looms on the horizon.

As I continued my duties at the company, meticulously crossing tasks off my list, I finally reached a moment of respite. With a sigh of relief, I decided to take a well-deserved break and head to the break room for some coffee.

As I pushed open the door, I noticed a woman entering behind me. She exuded an air of elegance, tall and slender, with cascading black hair that swayed with each graceful step. Her presence seemed to command attention, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of curiosity about who she was and what had brought her here.

"Seems like someone put a leash on the devil," she joked with a sly grin.

"What? Who?" I replied, my confusion evident.

"You did, darling. I mean, I can see why someone like him would want you, the complete opposite," she continued, her tone teasing yet cryptic.

"And who are you?" I inquired, trying to make sense of her enigmatic words.

"I'm their cousin. No need to know my name, but you should be worried," she warned, her words dripping with ominous undertones.

"Why?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease creeping over me.

"Doesn't this seem a little too good to be true? A huge ring, a marriage, and let me guess, something went wrong before all of this," she remarked, her gaze piercing through me with unnerving intensity.

I stared at her in complete shock, my confusion mounting with each passing moment.

"What?" I managed to utter, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Wow, and dull as ever. Listen, I would watch him, well mainly watch your surroundings, history always seems to repeat" she advised cryptically before turning to leave.

I watched in silence as she disappeared around the corner, my thoughts racing with unanswered questions. Before I could process it all, Luka appeared, his concerned gaze locking onto my face.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his tone filled with genuine concern.

"Nothing, nothing," I replied hastily, waving off his concern as I struggled to make sense of the encounter with his mysterious cousin.

Afterward, I felt the need to clear my head, so I decided to go for a walk, or rather, a roll. I laced up my new roller skates and made my way to a nearby park, gliding along the paths as I let the rhythmic motion soothe my racing thoughts.

But amidst the tranquility of the park, nagging questions tugged at my mind. Why did my parents show up unannounced?

It wasn't entirely unheard of for them to appear unexpectedly; after all, when our aunt landed a new job, they descended upon her doorstep like bloodhounds on a scent.

Yet, this time felt different. How did they know where I was? The thought gnawed at me, unraveling the threads of logic as I tried to make sense of the situation.

With each passing moment, confusion swirled within me, casting a shadow over the serenity of the park and leaving me grappling with unanswered questions.

"And why marriage?" I pondered aloud, the question echoing through my mind like a persistent whisper.

Lost in thought, I continued my stroll through the park until suddenly, I collided with Volcov, his abrupt appearance jolting me from my musings.

"There you are!" he exclaimed, his expression lacking its usual humor.

"Here I am?" I replied, bewildered by his sudden appearance.

He sighed, brushing himself off before fixing me with a stern gaze. "You really should let that fiance of yours know where you are at all times. He's worried sick."

"Oh, my bad. I was just here, going around in circles," I replied sheepishly, realizing the unintended worry I had caused.

"Alright, well, you should head back and get ready to meet our side of the family," he advised, his tone indicating the seriousness of the matter.

As his words sank in, realization dawned on me. That's why I saw her earlier. The mysterious woman in the break room was connected to Luka's family, and meeting them would likely answer some of the lingering questions swirling in my mind.
