As I made my way to the roller skate rink, a mix of excitement and nerves churned in my stomach. This was my chance to break free from the confines of the mansion, even if just for a few hours.

However, a sense of unease lingered as I sensed a presence trailing behind me.

Arriving at the front desk, I attempted to ignore the feeling of being watched as I engaged in small talk with the attendant.

"Hi there, I'd like to rent some skates, please," I said with a polite smile.

The attendant, a young man with a cocky grin, leaned in a little too close for comfort as he replied, "Sure thing, sweetheart. I'll get you set up in no time."

His overly flirtatious comments made me uncomfortable, but I pushed aside my discomfort, determined to enjoy the night.

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted as the attendant caught sight of Luka standing behind me. His demeanor transformed instantly, his flirtatious facade crumbling in the face of Luka's intimidating presence.

"Uh, let me get those skates for you," he stammered nervously, his hands trembling as he handed me the rental.

I exchanged a quick glance with Luka, who stood silent but imposing behind me. His unwavering gaze spoke volumes, a silent warning to the attendant.

As I glided around the roller rink, feeling the wind in my hair and the thrill of freedom coursing through me, I couldn't help but steal a glance at Luka. He stood at the edge of the rink, watching me with a mixture of amusement and concern.

"You should skate with me," I called out to him, a playful smile tugging at my lips.

Luka shook his head with a small smile, his eyes softening. "No, I'll watch."

Disappointed but undeterred, I continued to skate, reveling in the simple joy of movement. As I circled the rink, I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Glancing around, I noticed Luka's intense gaze following my every move, a reassuring presence amidst the crowd.

Finally, as the session came to an end, I made my way back to the front desk to return my skates. But as I approached, I realized that the attendant was not the same person as before.

"Um, excuse me," I said tentatively, eyeing the unfamiliar face behind the counter. "I'm here to return my skates."

The new attendant flashed me a bright smile. "Of course, ma'am. Let me take care of that for you."

As he processed my return, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Something about the sudden change in staff seemed off, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Okay, ma'am, you're all set to go," the new attendant said cheerfully, handing me back my shoes.

With a polite nod, I thanked him and made my way back to Luka, the mystery of the sudden switch in staff lingering in the back of my mind.

As we left the roller rink, the evening air was filled with the promise of adventure. Hunger gnawed at my stomach, and the idea of grabbing some food sounded like the perfect way to cap off our impromptu outing.

"Wow, this island has everything," I remarked, scanning the bustling streets lined with quaint shops and inviting eateries.

"Some things I had specially built for you," Luka replied with a hint of pride, his arm wrapping around my waist as we strolled along the sidewalk.

A surge of warmth spread through me at his words. Despite the complexities of our situation, Luka always found ways to make me feel special, to remind me that I was more than just a pawn in his world.

Together, we settled on a cozy little bistro tucked away in a charming alleyway. The aroma of freshly baked bread and savory spices filled the air as we took our seats at a secluded corner table.

As we perused the menu, Luka's hand found mine beneath the table, his touch grounding me in the moment. Despite the chaos that often surrounded us, here, in this quiet corner of the world, we were just two people enjoying each other's company.

With a smile, I leaned in closer to him, grateful for this simple moment of peace amidst the tumult of our lives. As we waited for our meal to arrive, I couldn't help but marvel at the way Luka always managed to surprise me, to show me a side of himself that I never knew existed.

Amidst the lively chatter and clinking of utensils, I inadvertently collided with a waiter balancing a tray laden with delectable treats.

With a gasp, I watched in horror as the contents of the tray cascaded to the floor, creating a messy splatter of crumbs and spilled beverages.

"Sorry, sorry," I stammered, my cheeks flushed with embarrassment as I knelt to assist in the cleanup, my fingers fumbling to gather the scattered remnants.

The waiter's head whipped around, his eyes narrowing with a mixture of surprise and irritation. His jaw clenched, and for a moment, I feared he might unleash a tirade of scolding words.

As I scrambled to assist in cleaning up the mess, I couldn't shake the feeling that the waiter's reaction was more than just a typical response to an accidental collision. It seemed as if he recognized my face, his gaze lingering for a moment longer than necessary.

"No, I'm sorry, miss. It's my fault," he said in a hushed tone, his anger dissipating as quickly as it had arisen.

Surprised by his sudden change in demeanor, I hesitated before reluctantly returning to my seat. Glancing over at Luka, who was calmly sipping his coffee, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity.

"What was that about?" I asked, unable to suppress my curiosity.

Luka simply shrugged his shoulders, his expression unreadable. "Just a misunderstanding." he replied, his voice betraying no hint of concern.

Though his nonchalant response eased some of my worries, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the encounter than met the eye.
