Chapter 17: "this isn't the right-"

I wrote the chapter in morning but while editing it after a long workday, I got carried away and added extra. The number of words got increased. Sorry 🤓 I was also about to add the 18+ part but couldn't fit here.😶‍🌫️

A week has gone by in a trice for Jungkook, worrying and taking care of Jun-ho. Sehun has been lending a hand to him in business but he has resumed work since the third day. He's been going office just for few hours in the afternoon to attend the crucial client meetings. The elder Jeon's health has been stable now but his loving son is not ready to leave him out of his sight for more than few hours. Jinah was there too but Jungkook felt sorry for his father seeing Jinah's ignorance towards her husband.

Jun-ho has always been fit and healthy. He was called as a superhero by his sons as they had rarely seen him catching a disease. In that context, Jungkook's extra heedful self started taking over to bring the man back to good health. Jinah's role in the care was negligible but  any sign of surprise was missing Jun-ho's face, rather, he was happier to spend time with his youngest child.

"When is the meeting scheduled to be over?" Jinah asked Jungkook continuing to dab some concealer under her eyes.
"It's from 3 to 4. I will be leaving by 2 and try to be back home by 5." Jungkook replied while pouring some water in a glass for Jun-ho to take a pill before lunch as prescribed by the physician.

"It's 12 already. Make sure you feed him lunch before going to office, Kook."
"After this medicine, doctor said to wait for 15 minutes and then dad can have lunch. Don't worry about it, mom. I will go after he goes for a quick nap like a good boy." Jungkook said looking at Jun-oh with a smile that's his father's favourite thing.

"Why do you keep bothering yourself, Kookie. There are so many helpers in the house."
"Dad, we have repeated this conversation at least twenty times by now, there's no way I'm going to leave you alone."

"Was this projected towards me, my son?" Jinah turned around from her place with the beauty blender still held in between her thumb and index fingers.
"Jinah, please!" Jun-ho knew what his wife was trying to turn Jungkook's words into.
"I am asking this to my son, Jun-ho." She threw a mild glare at her husband before turning to her son to say, "Tell me, Kook. Do you deliberately want to say I am not taking enough care of your father?"

"Not now mom, please!" The asked person kept the glass on the table without making eye contact with the woman.
"Why not? Your father still has 15 minutes before lunch. We can make good use of this precious time to come up with a plan so that you can have your life and I get stuck with being a caretaker of your father."

Jungkook clenched his fist and closed his eyes to chug down the frustration his mother has been causing lately. This has happened almost every day since a week now. There is no force on this planet that can convince Jungkook that his parents have had a happy marriage for more than last three decades now. Seokjin and him being closer to Jun-ho, they never complained of their mother's irrational behaviour but he wants to make sure at least his father has a peaceful recovery time.

"Mom, I appreciate your concern for my father but I didn't mean you. I was talking about the house helpers who might mess the medication schedule, that's all!"
"Concern for your father?" She chuckled out bitterly before continuing, "That's my husband you're talking about, little boy! And if I didn't bring you to this world, you wouldn't be standing right now."

"Jinah, I think you are getting late for your friend's party." Jun-ho said politely and his hand was holding Jungkook's wrist.
"Thanks for reminding me, darling." She kept the makeup accessories down on the dressing table and left the room taking a luxurious handbag in her arms.
