Just For A Few Days (Namkook)

Chapter 12: "At your own risk"

The serenity of the mildly dark room at dawn got disturbed by the sudden ringing of phone. Parting the eyes half, Jungkook found a head rested on his chest with two arms hugging his waist. In the trance of sheer delight, they missed to get cleaned up after the rough session last night. He kept his hand on Namjoon's head to keep him in place and dragged his shoulder a little to pick up his phone from the nightstand. The caller tune suggested Hoseok's number.

"Hobi hyung, what happened?"

Hoseok was not an early riser, neither was Ryeon so Jungkook became anxious of several possible reasons for a call at this time. It was 5 in the morning to be exact.

"Kook!!!!"

A male and a female voice called him out in unison making Jungkook distance the phone away from his ear accompanied by scrunching of nose and clicking of tongue.

"God! Guys, what happened?" He tried to keep the tone of whisper as soft as possible trying not to wake Namjoon up.
"Guess what!" Hoseok chirped out.
"Hyung, I don't know, my gut feeling is saying that something is good but you calling this early seems a little worrying to me." He said blocking Namjoon's right ear with his free hand as the left one was placed against Jungkook's chest.

"We are having a baby!" Ryeon screamed out of happiness from the other side to which her husband joined instantly.

"Oh my god! You both are going to be parents! That will make me an uncle!" Jungkook's emotional exclamation made him forget about the current position and he tried to get up only to be pulled down by Namjoon's arms on his waist. He quickly leaned back to his original sleeping position with a huge smile lingered on his lips.

"We just found out via one of the pregnancy kits after your noona became sick but need to get checked by the doctor. Will catch up soon, Kook. Go back to sleep now." Hoseok and Ryeon disconnected the call after wishing him a good morning. He flung the phone on the bed being excited without noticing a pair of dragon eyes at him.
"Who was that? Sounded like some good news." The deep sleepy voice of Namjoon made the other widen his eyes in guilt to wake the man up unintentionally.

"I'm so sorry. I tried to talk softly but got too carried away."
"Hey don't be sorry. I would like to know if there's something good happening in someone else's life at least." Namjoon asked siding himself away from the other's body.

"It was my best friend, Hobi hyung. He and his wife are going to have a baby soon. Noona is pregnant. They got to know just now and shared the news with me." Jungkook said smiling at the elder to conceal the emptiness he was feeling once Namjoon's hands were taken away from his body.

"Wow! Convey my congratulations to them." Namjoon said putting on his t-shirt and walked to the bathroom.
"I will, thanks." Jungkook kept staring at the ceiling pulling the blanket up to his chest. He was happy for his best friend but he wants to feel the same happiness too, someday.

You didn't even ask if I was okay. Am I really just a stress reliever to you, Namjoon? No! I need to wait, I already lied to you about my feelings last night. I cannot show my emotional side to you. I need to be stronger.

Jungkook kept slapping himself in imagination to compose himself for the drama that he needs to act in to prove his casual friends with benefits attitude. However, those disobedient fat tears keep threatening him. He dabbed the blanket harshly on his eyes to make himself appear unbothered in Namjoon's eyes. Meanwhile, Namjoon exited the bathroom.

"I switched on the geyser. Take a warm shower, Jungkook. I know it might be hurting." Namjoon said walking towards the dressing mirror making Jungkook amazed.
"I am fine." Jungkook said trying to get up.
"Slowly!" Namjoon rushed to the bed to help the younger. He placed his hands on Jungkook's back and shoulder to make him sit properly.
