Chapter 29: "I want my boyfriend back"

After continuous darkness for several hours, the black pair of expressive eyes got opened to witness a middle aged woman sitting on a chair beside the bed he was lying on. As she turned to him, a calming smile was noticed on her face that gave the hint of a mother's care that Jungkook was always looking for.

"How are you feeling, son?"

Her words full of concern and affection sparked the unfinished emotional breakdown inside his heart as a result of the unbelievable scene he was a spectator of in Namjoon's bedroom.

"Don't cry, son. Everything will be fine. My Joonie can never hurt you." She said patting the crying Jungkook's head. He felt too weak to sit up and kept crying until he started having hiccups.

"Cry all you want but trust me your agony will go away, son. Joonie loves you." The fact that Namjoon lost his biological mother in his childhood helped Jungkook understand that this was the woman he would often talk about, she was Mrs. Kim, Taehyung's mother and wife of Namjoon's father's assistant, Kim Jae-rin.

She picked up a bottle of water kept on the nightstand and twisted open the cap before handing out to Jungkook. He accepted it after which the hiccups died down and the woman patted his back as he choked on the water a bit.

"Are you Taehyung's-"
"Yes son, I'm Taehyung's mother and Namjoon's eomoni. I heard everything from Tae and he is waiting to talk to you. Shall I let him in or do you want to take some rest?"
"Please call him in, ma'am. I want to know what happened." Jungkook's restless and heartbroken eyes melted her heart. Giving an assertive nod, she exited the room calling her son in.

Jungkook inspected the room to be of decent size and furnished with classy decors. It wasn't as lavish as Namjoon's apartment but still quite a stunner. He felt comfortable once his eyes fell on a picture frame of the Kim family along with Namjoon who seemed to be a teenager in the photo and was so was Taehyung.

"How are you, Jungkook?" He saw Taehyung entering into the room followed by a short statured man who was dressed in black suit, just like the lawyers wear. He had a file bag in his hand too.

"I'm fine, Taehyung. Please tell me what happened? Why is Sa-ra back in Namjoon's home? How did I end up here?" He asked everything in a single breath making himself cough out at the shortage of air.

"You need to calm down first, Mr. Jeon." The shorter man said with his mellow voice.
"Who are you?" Jungkook asked in a puzzling tone making Taehyung promptly answer, "He's Park Jimin, handling Namjoon hyung's divorce case. I know you have tonnes of queries but first we need you to tell us everything that happened after you reached hyung's apartment."

"Where is Namjoon? I need to talk to him, please!" He started blabbering with moist eyes again when Jimin sat beside him shaking his shoulders.

"If you want to be with Namjoon, you need to help us, Mr. Jeon. Right now everything is unclear to us. We don't have any clarity why Mr. Kim called Taehyung to pick you up from his home. He tried to ask but he just gave straight forward answer as if he is hiding something. All he said that he is getting back together with his ex-wife and called me to appeal the same in court today."

Jungkook gaped at Taehyung silently asking for the confirmation yet hoping for a denial of whatever Park Jimin said. To his dismay, the elder nodded his head confirming Jimin's allegations to be true.

"His phone was saying switched off since last evening. I was getting worried and couldn't close my eyes for a second, so drove off to his place at around 6 and-" pausing the sentence, Jungkook checked his phone that declared the time to be 7:30, "he opened the door and looked somewhat weary and just asked me to go back home. I heard a woman's voice and there she was! On Namjoon's bed with-"
