CHAPTER 24 - OFFICIALLY MINE

Hinayaan niya lang itong pagmasdan ang mga fireflies nag nagliliparan sa paligid nila.

Nakaupo sila habang nakayakap siya sa likod nito.

"They are amazing. I didn't know they exist." sambit nito.

"They exist. Just like you. They are just lowkey. Even if they are not like others that are visible in everyone's eyes, they are here happy in their own world. No one can distract them. Away from others."

"Just like us?"

"Like us."

Unti unti itong humarap sa akin. "You know there is nothing like you. I like how you looked on the positive sides of life. Sometimes I am thinking if once in your life if something you regret."

"There's nothing I regret , Ann. That's the beauty of life. I just think that there always a purpose of our every actions. But of course we have to think it twice or thrice before we  do it."sagot ko dito.

Ngumiti naman ito habang nakatitig sa aking mga mata.

"Ann"

"Baby"

Sabay pa nilang sambit. At napatawa na lang sila pareho.

"Do you know that it is not my first time to encounter you. I mean our first meet. In the hallway." kagat labi nitong sabi.

Ugh dont be like that Ann.

"Really. Then when?" tanong ko dito at iniisip kung saan niya ako nakita.

"Maybe you may have forgotten but it has been 3 years when I saw you in that Tournament. I saw you struggling for something. Then I offer you my drinks but you said its okay because you're not thirsty. But I just only offer it because I want to see you closely." ngiti nito. "Unlike the others they have their parents to support the others but you I saw you sulking in the other side."

Napatiim bagang siya sa narinig. Napapikit siya at pilit na kinokontrol ang namumuong emosyon sa loob niya.

"T-that was in the US. You are there?" tanong ko.

At napairap naman ito. "You didnt heard what I said. I am there okay. Offering you my drinks but you refuse to accept it."

"Hahaha. Okay Im sorry. Maybe I am occupied on what Im thinking on that day." sabi niya. "So you first have already a crush on me."

"Hey! Im not saying I have a crush on you. I just saw you accidentally there."

I dont believe her. When I was in US madami na talagang lumalapit sa akin dati pa. Karamihan mga girls. Pero ang nasa isip ko lagi noon ang manalo lagi sa tournament. But unfortunately my parents dont support me. Kaya madalas talaga ang mag isa lang siya lagi noon. Minsan takas pa nga. Ayaw pa nga sana siyang isali sa tournament dahil bukod sa wala siyang kasama na magulang ay under age pa siya. Mabuti na lang mababait ang mga kaibigan niya at may napapakiusapan ang mga ito na nagkukunwaring guardian niya.  Isang tao lang naman ang laging sumusuporta sa lahat ng gusto niya. My grandfather. Pero nasa US siya ngayon. Ito ang dahilan bakit nandito sila sa Pilipinas.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang pinag awayan ng magulang ko kay lolo. Nagising na lang ako noon akay akay na akong pasakay ng eroplano. That was the last time I saw my grandfather.

"Accidentally huh. There is no an accident. Just say it. You're one of the avid fans. Hahaha. "

"Conceited! No way! Just--"

Hindi ko alam kung anong sumanib sa sistema ko kung bakit bigla ko na lang nilapat ang aking mga labi sa labi niya.

"Its okay because I have a crush in you too." habang nilalayo ang sarili dito.
