I walk in my house with Nee, and I'm smiling like a fool. My soon-to-be stepsister Kayla, who was fourteen and also a freshman (went to a different school than us), comes in and says, "B, you look like you got a boyfriend." I say, "Nope! But there was this new kid, and we talked almost all day. His name is Brendan. He likes the bands I do and looks like a Frerard offspring. He gave me his number!" My soon-to-be stepmom, Amy, hears us and says, "Aw, B!" She laughs and I blush. My other soon-to-be stepsister, Helena, peeks her head out of our bedroom and asks, "B got a boyfriend?" I shake my head and respond, "No! BUT I did meet a new guy and got his number." Helena yells at the top of her lungs, "TIME TO PUT HER ON BIRTH CONTROL!" then laughs. I shake my head and throw my backpack in my room.
My dad comes in for a break during his shift as a County Sheriff's Deputy. Amy yells, "Hey babe! B has the hots for this guy!" My dad looks at me and asks, "What?" I shake my head and argue, "No! There was a new kid at school today, and we talked all day. He even gave me his number." My dad doesn't yell, he just laughs.
I walk into mine and Helena's room and shut the door. I pull out my phone and make Brendan's number a contact. It was simple: Brendan :D .
Me: Hey it's Brianna. Or BB. Or B.
It's takes a minute, but he soon replies.
Brendan: I'm just going to call you BB
Me: K :3
Brendan: My parents told me that some neighbors of ours are inviting us over for dinner
Me: Cool. My soon-to-be-step-mom's dad and step-mom are coming over for dinner in about two hours. If they leave now, they'll make it here at six
Brendan: That sucks
Me: Yeah. We usually go down to where they live
Brendan: I would die
Me: You get used to it
Brendan: YOU would.
We talked for almost an hour. He told me he had to go.
Brendan: Gotta go. See you tomorrow
Me: Bye
Brendan: Bye
I put my phone down and stretch. It was 5:30 P.M., so Amy's dad and step-mom, Royse and Darnell, should be here soon.
There was a knock at the door, and Amy's dog, Mazy, went crazy. "Shut up, Mazy!" everybody yells, almost in unison.
My dad answers the door, still in his police uniform. He didn't get off for another thirty minutes. "Hey! Come in!" I hear people walk in, and I hear a voice that belongs to Darnell say, "Hey everybody!" I get up and walk out of my room. "Well hi Miss B!" Royse says. I wave and say, "Hey!" Darnell says to Amy, "We picked up the hot dogs for tonight." Oh that's great. We were eating pork, chicken, and beef grinded up and put into a cylinder shape on bread for dinner. Lovely.
There was another knock on the door, and my dad yelled, "It's open!" A beautiful woman with black hair and green eyes and a tall man with dark brown hair and green eyes walked in. "Our son should be here in a second," the woman said. I soon heard fast footsteps going down our sidewalk and up the ramp. I looked around and saw Brendan running in behind his, I assume, parents. I got a little excited when Brendan came running in because I didn't want to be stuck alone eating "meat" with family. No offense to my family. Brendan was still in the same outfit on as he had earlier, and everyone looked at me with creeper eyes. "Guys," my dad says, "this is John, Adrienne, and Brendan. They're our new neighbors." We each say our hellos, and Kayla shouts out of no where, "B IS THAT THE NEW KID? HE'S CUTE!" I facepalm and everyone laughs, including myself.
