Brendan comes back home with me so we could talk some more about his situation. "I don't know what to do," he worried. I say trying to calm him down, "Calm yourself. Just go ahead and call her." Brendan says and blushes with embarrassment, "That's actually not a bad idea." He pulls out his phone and calls his girlfriend. This is what I hear Brendan say: "Hey Veronica!...It's Brendan...Your boyfriend who moved to Indiana...How do you not know me?...But..."
Brendan's P.O.V. *few minutes ago*
I pulled out my phone and called Veronica on request from Brianna. She immediately picks up and says, "Hello?"
"Hey Veronica!"
She replies confused, "Who is this?"
"It's Brendan."
"Who's Brendan?"
"Your boyfriend who moved to Indiana."
"I don't know any 'Brendan.'"
I hear some guy in the back ask, "Who is it, babe?"
She replies to the voice, "I don't know! It's some guy named Brendan."
I ask in disbelief, "How do you not know me?"
"Sorry, I don't know you. Bye, I guess."
"But-" She hangs up on me before I could say anything else. I was heart broken due to a long distance relationship. BB was right.
Brianna's P.O.V.
Brendan put his phone down and didn't say anything. I could tell he was going to cry. When a guy cries, it means he has a heart. It doesn't mean he's a "wus" or "pussy", it means he's caring.
"I just wanna break something." He grabs a pillow, and starts punching and trying to break it, and I say, "Buddy, pillows don't break." I hand him one of my 4-H tropies from showing poulty and say, "Try this." He asks, "Your 4-H trophy?" I answer, "Yeah, I've been trying to tell my dad that I don't like 4-H. This will show him." Brendan hesitates, and smashes the trophy on the ground, which makes it break into pieces.
I remembered that Autumn was coming over, and this was going to be great. She walked through the door and into my room. "What's going on here?" I reply, "Veronica is no longer in the picture." Autumn doesn't say anything, she just makes her mouth into an 'o' shape.
Brendan continues to smash trophies, so Autumn and I start talking.
"So," Autumn asks, "what did you two do today?"
I answer, "Well, we went to the other property by the creek, and he brought his guitar."
"Guitar?!"
"Yep! He played 'The World is Ugly'."
"Ermergerd that's my song."
"Yeah, he was going to play it for you-know-who."
"You must've felt like dirt because I feel like dirt even though I wasn't there."
"I did. Then he said that he hasn't called her in weeks, so I was said, 'Go call her!' He did, and she picked up, didn't know who he was, even though she probably did, and there was a guy voice in the background because I could tell, and Brendan asks her, 'How could you forget me?' She just hangs up on him."
"Oh my God, poor kid. Why is he-"
"Yeah, I've been trying to tell my dad that I don't like 4-H, so this will show him!"
Brendan gets done smashing every single one of the trophies, and I ask, "Feel better?" He smiles, and he answers, "Yeah, I do." Autumn and I smile back. I think he'll like it here.
