Brendan's P.O.V.
Later that night, I change into comfy clothes. While I'm doing that, I call Brianna via FaceTime. Now where did I put that faded Iron Maiden shirt?
Brianna's P.O.V.
*back in Madison*
Look Alive, Sunshine starts playing, and I realize that it was my phone ringing. I look at it and see that Brendan is trying to FaceTime me. I hit the answer button and it starts connecting.
It eventually connects and I see Brendan in Batman sweatpants and shirtless. "What the hell happened to that shirt?" he curses on the other end. I remain silent because hey! My boyfriend is standing there shirtless!
I'm sitting in my room alone, but my sister's room is right beside mine and Amy's nine-year-old niece is spending the night. Plus they're working on a Lego cruise ship so I'm praying that they're not too loud or come in and ask me to come in there and help them.
Lauren's (Nee's) P.O.V.
Amy's niece, Lily, and I are working on the Lego Friends cruise ship I got for Christmas from Memaw. Out of nowhere, Lily asks, "Does B really have a boyfriend?"
I say, "Yep!"
"What's his name?"
"Brendan. He's fifteen and a freshman."
"Freshman is ninth grade, right?"
"Yeah. B's a freshman."
"Can we go ask her about him?"
I grin and say, "Yes!"
Brianna's P.O.V.
I continue staring at Brendan (Totally not creepy...), and Lily and Nee barge into my room. I motion for them to be really, really quiet. Lily walks over and says loud enough for Brendan to hear, "He needs to put a shirt on." I hear him ask confused on the other line, "What?" I facepalm and Lily asks, "Who's this Brendan-boyfriend guy?" I put my hands over my face in embarrassment and frustration. "Do you love him?" she coos. I look at my phone screen and see Brendan sitting criss-crossed on a bed with his phone probably at the foot of the bed. (He's still shirtless, just by the way.) "I'm so sorry," I say. He laughs and says, "It's okay. It's better than how my day has been."
Me: "Is it safe to share while a nine and an eleven-year-old are in here?"
Brendan: "Not really."
Lily: "Tell us more about your relationship, then we'll leave."
Nee: "I already know much about it so...and you guys kiss a lot."
Me: "How would you know?"
Nee: "Because I'm a fortune teller."
All of us: "..."
Me: "Let's see, um...it's like our genders are switched, so I'm the guy and he's the girl. We'll be together during the evening or something and he or I will have to leave. He'll be like, 'I'll miss you.' Then you have me: 'Dude, I'm seeing you tomorrow all day at school.' Do you get what I mean?"
Lily and Nee: "Yeah!"
Brendan: "That's not entirely true."
Me: "That's completely true. But we're not an annoying couple. We're not like, 'I love you more!' and we don't use first person plural, except the fact that I just did because I was giving you the truth."
Nee: "If that ever happens, I'll shoot you."
Me: "I'll hand you the gun."
Brendan: "At least it's not like how mine and Veronica's relationship was. She liked to always kiss me, like make-out with me during school and once in Walmart."
