Chapter 22: ( your pov)

When I woke up the next day, sunlight was coming in through the curtains. I got up and went to the dining table. The house felt really quiet and empty, which was different from before when it was busy with lots of people. All of them had left already. Their leaving made the house feel lonely and empty. It was strange to have such silence after all the noise and fun from before.

As I sat by myself at the dining table, thinking quietly, Suah came into the room. She had a soft smile on her face, but her eyes looked a little sad as she came closer to me.

Suah: Good morning, Aaira. I hope you slept well.

Her voice was warm, but there was an underlying sadness.

Y/n: Good morning, Suah. Yes, thank you. How about you? Are you heading back home now?

I tried to keep the conversation light, despite the heaviness weighing on my heart.

Suah: Yes, I'm leaving now. It's been a wonderful stay, but duty calls.

Her smile faltered slightly, and I could tell that she, too, was reluctant to leave the comfort of our home.

Y/n: Well, thank you for everything, Suah. I'm glad you could join us for Jungkook's farewell.

Suah: Of course, it was my pleasure. And thank you for your hospitality.

After a few more polite words, Suah said goodbye and left the dining room. I was left alone again. The maids looked at me with curiosity, their eyes asking questions without words.

It's understandable why they were curious. My life changed suddenly, and I have scars on my face, so it's natural for them to wonder.

As I went back to my room to get ready, I felt uneasy. The silence in the house was overwhelming, and I wanted a change. Maybe going for a walk in the nearby market would help me feel better. Who knows, I might find something to take my mind off things for a while.

As I stood before the mirror, I couldn't help but notice the bruises and scars that marred my face, a constant reminder of the violence that had shattered my world.

With a sigh, I pushed away the painful memories and got ready. I put on a simple and comfy outfit, then wore my sneakers before leaving the door.

I quickly dressed and made my way out of the house, the cool breeze of the morning greeting me as I stepped onto the cobblestone streets. I wandered aimlessly through the gardens, taking in the beauty of nature that surrounded me. Birds chirped merrily in the trees, and butterflies danced on the gentle breeze. The market was just a short walk away, its quaint shops and bustling crowds a stark contrast to the solitude of the house.

As I walked through the narrow paths, I saw and heard lots of things in the market. Vendors shouted to people passing by, showing off their colorful goods. The smell of fresh bread mixed with spices, making the air smell delicious.

As I walked around the market, I felt amazed. There were many cool things to see, like handmade jewelry and beautifully woven fabrics. Everyone could find something they liked there.

While looking around the stalls, I heard bits of the locals' talk. They chatted about everyday stuff, sharing laughs and friendship.

Vendor: Fresh fruits! Get your fresh fruits here!

I heard the vendor's happy call and went to his stall. There, baskets of ripe fruits sparkled in the morning sun. I couldn't resist and bought a few, savoring their sweet taste with every bite.

Down the street, some kids played tag, laughing loudly. Their fun made me smile, reminding me of easier times.

I walked deeper into the village, feeling really curious. I saw an old woman sitting under a big tree, her face lit up by the morning sun. There was something about her that caught my attention, so I decided to go closer. I wanted to ask her about the mysterious girl Soobin mentioned.
