Chapter 32: (your pov)
I don't know whether to continue or just sleep, but I guess I had no choice but to go read, or else I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.
I opened the diary and searched until I was again at that page, where I left reading, i flipped to the next page and more tears came in my view, I traced a hand on the blurred ink on the pages.
"
It was raining restlessly outside, the pitter patter of rain made my steps a little muffled then the usual sounds, it helped me climb the stairs fast.
Finally, I reached the upper floor, my chest heaving with exertion as I searched for a place to hide. The hallway stretched out before me, deserted and silent, but I knew that danger could lurk around any corner.
With a sense of urgency driving me forward, I scanned the area for any sign of a hiding place. And then, I spotted it - a small alcove nestled against the wall, its shadows providing a welcome refuge from the darkness.
Without hesitation, I hurried towards the alcove, my every sense on high alert for any sign of danger. Aimin's cries echoed in the confined space, a constant reminder of the peril that surrounded us.
As I huddled with my children in the safety of the alcove, We were hidden from view, at least for now, but I knew that we couldn't stay here forever.
With trembling hands, I reached for the knife tucked into my corset that was now bathed in the blood of a stranger, I prayed that we would find a way to escape this nightmare.
But for now, all we could do was wait, wait for the danger to pass, and hope that help would arrive before it was too late.
I wished for anyone, jungkook, jimin, Taehyung, yoongi, seokjin, hoseok, namjoon, hwasa, Yeonjun or any of his brothers, anyone would come and save me, I only keep thinking about help and how to stay safe.
As I heard someone's footsteps approaching the stairs, my heart raced with fear. I knew we couldn't stay hidden in the alcove much longer. This time the footsteps were going down that means i still had some time to till he tried to find me downstairs so I could go to a safer place.
As I heard the footsteps were so hurried the assassin or whoever it was was opening the doors hurriedly and closing them one after one with a thud made me jump in fear, my heart raced with fear.
I knew I had to act quickly to protect us, I scanned the room for something, anything, that could help me. My eyes landed on a heavy dresser pushed against the wall. With all my strength, I began to drag it towards the door, hoping to block the entrance and buy us some time.
But as I struggled against the dresser, it became apparent that it was too heavy for me to move alone. Panic surged within me as I realized that time was running out. Desperation clawed at my chest as I wracked my brain for another plan.
That's when it hit me. The attic. If I could just reach the attic, we might have a chance to hide until help arrived. With renewed determination, I rushed to the staircase, my footsteps echoing in the silence of the mansion.
As I reached the top of the stairs, I glanced back, half expecting to see the shadowy figure looming behind me. But the hallway was empty, save for the flickering candlelight casting eerie shadows on the walls.
Without hesitation, I made my way down the corridor, my heart pounding in my chest with each step. The attic door loomed before me, its heavy wooden frame taunting me with its impassable barrier.
