Chapter 20: (your pov)
As Soobin disappeared into the night, leaving me alone with my thoughts, I felt a heavy weight settle upon my chest. Guilt gnawed at me, a relentless reminder of the pain I had caused him by pushing him away. But deep down, I knew it was the right decision, despite the ache in my heart.
I sighed heavily and left the balcony, heading back into my room. The events from last night kept replaying in my mind, like a broken record I couldn't turn off. Exhaustion pulled at my eyelids, and I eventually succumbed to sleep, seeking refuge from the turmoil of reality.
When morning arrived, I found myself still in my room, the weight of despair settling on my shoulders once more. Memories of the previous night flooded back, each one feeling like a stab to my heart.
But then, Jungkook entered the room with a tray of breakfast. His presence reminded me of his control over me, sending a shiver down my spine. Despite this, I couldn't ignore the hunger gnawing at my stomach.
Jungkook: Good morning, Aaira.
His voice was surprisingly gentle, a stark contrast to the venomous words he had hurled at me just hours before. I braced myself for another onslaught of accusations and insults, but to my surprise, Jungkook offered me a small smile as he approached the bed.
Jungkook: I brought you some breakfast. You must be hungry after last night.
His words surprised me, leaving me confused as I tried to understand his sudden change in behavior. Was this just another one of his mind games, or was there a hint of humanity hidden beneath his usual cruelty?
Y/n: Thank you.
I spoke softly, barely above a whisper, as I took the tray from Jungkook's hands, feeling hesitant and unsure. I couldn't shake the unease I felt as I watched him, wondering what hidden motives might be behind this unexpected act of kindness.
Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze softening as he reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from my face. His touch sent a surge of electricity through me, leaving me feeling both fearful and strangely drawn to him.
Jungkook: You don't have to be afraid, Aaira. I'm not going to hurt you.
His words made me feel a bit better, like a calming touch on my troubled soul. But I knew I still had to be cautious, not fully letting my guard down around him.
Y/n: Why are you being so... nice to me all of a sudden?
I spoke carefully, with a hint of suspicion, as I looked at Jungkook's face, searching for any signs of deceit. But to my surprise, he looked sincere, his eyes meeting mine.
Jungkook: Because despite everything, you're still my wife. And it's my duty to take care of you, whether I like it or not. and i still love you for who you are even if you're a cheat or a some sort of liar.
His words touched something deep inside me, stirring up a whirlwind of conflicting feelings as I tried to understand his sudden shift in demeanor. Was it possible that Jungkook could change, that he was capable of compassion and understanding?
But despite the glimmer of hope his words sparked, I couldn't shake the unease gnawing at me. Jungkook had a history of manipulation, expertly spinning webs of deception to trap those around him.
Y/n: I... I don't understand.
Jungkook: You don't have to understand, Aaira. Just know that I'm here for you, whether you like it or not.
With that mysterious remark, Jungkook got up from the bed and headed towards the door, leaving me alone with my thoughts once more. As I watched him leave, a sense of unease settled over me, wondering if his sudden act of kindness was just another part of his scheme.
