MIA WAS WOKEN up later by Harry when it was time to change into their robes. While the girl changed, she couldn't help but overthink making her sick.

The train slowed down and finally stopped. People pushed their way toward the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform.

Mia kept a tight grip around Harry when the two heard a familiar voice, "Firs' years! Firs' years over here! All right there, Harry? Mia?" The siblings gazed up at Hagrid, with large smiles. "C'mon, follow me-any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Follow me, follow me!"

The eleven years old followed Hagrid down a narrow path that opened onto the edge of a great black lake. Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers.

"No more'n four to a boat!" Hagrid called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore. Mia, Harry and Ron were followed into a boat by Hermione. "Everyone in?" shouted Hagrid "Right then. Forward!"

The boats gave a little jolt as they started off, gliding across the lake. Mia stared at the castle in shock, but also excitement.

The boats stopped when they reached a harbor underneath the castle, then the children clambered out onto rocks and pebbles. Hagrid guided them towards the castle before stopping in front of huge front door. The gatekeeper raised his fist and knocked three times on the castle door, which swung open at once.

A tall, black haired witch in emerald green robes stood there. She wore a very stern face that Mia found oddly familiar.

"The firs' years, Professor McGonagall," said Hagrid.

"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here."

Professor McGonagall waved the students to follow her through the entrance hall, stopping in front of a door on the right. "Welcome to Hogwarts," The older woman greeted "Now, in a few moments, you'll pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin."

The eleven years old listened closely as they soaked up Professor McGonagall's words. "Now, while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup."

   "Trevor!"

A boy with light brown hair cried out as he rushed forward, grabbing the toad that was at Professor McGonagall's feet. Mia was right to assume it was Neville as the boy blushed before returning to his place.

"The Sorting Ceremony will begin momentarily." The older witch continued, "I shall return when we are ready for you. Please wait quietly." She left them with that as she entered through the door on the right.
