The grumblings of Vernon Dursley was heard as he opened the hallway door. His eyes narrowed on Harry, who was setting plates on the table for breakfast.

"Third time this week!" Vernon roared as he took a seat. "If you can't control that owl, it'll have to go!"

Harry tried, yet again, to explain.

"She's bored," he said. "She's used to flying around outside. If I could just let her out at night..." Mia watched the two carefully as she turned off the oven, taking the pans over to the table.

Vernon scoffed, already reaching for the food "Do I look stupid? I know what'll happen if that owl's let out." He and Petunia exchanged dark looks making Mia roll her eyes.

Harry opened his mouth, trying to plead but he was cut off by a loud belch from Dudley. "I want more bacon."

"There's more in the frying pan, sweetums," Aunt Petunia said, looking at her son with worry "We must feed you up while we've got the chance. I don't like the sound of that school food."

"Nonsense, Petunia." Vernon said, shaking his head at his wife. "I never went hungry when I was at Smeltings. Dudley gets enough, don't you, son?"

Dudley didn't answer his father as he grinned, turning to Harry "Pass the frying pan."

"You've forgotten the magic word," Harry remarked, irritably.

The effect was instant. Dudley gasped with such movement that his chair crashed to the floor. Petunia let out a shriek, before clapping her hands to her mouth.

Mia shot out of her seat, pushing Harry away from Vernon, who jumped up as he pounded his fists on the table. "I meant "please"!' said Harry quickly. "I didn't mean-"

"What have I told you," thundered their uncle, food spilling from his mouth, "about saying the M word in our house?"

"He only-"

"How dare you threaten Dudley!" Vernon shouted, pointing at the siblings.

"I just-"

"I warned you both! I will not tolerate mention of your abnormality under this roof!"

"Alright!" Mia shouted back at the man, "You can stop bloody shouting, okay?" Vernon sat back down, breathing like a winded rhinoceros and narrowed his eyes at the girl.
