privet drivePrivet Drive was a quiet place, considering it was well past midnight. Thankfully, that was all Albus Dumbledore needed as he stood at the end
of Privet Drive with unnecessary trouble the old wizard was able to put out the street lanterns.Albus glanced down at the sound of a cat, "I should have known that you would be here, Professor McGonagall."
"Good evening, Professor Dumbledore." she replied, standing to her full height as she brushed her clothes down. "Are the rumors true, Albus?"
"I'm afraid so, Professor." the wizard answered, "The good and the bad."
"And the children?"
Albus hummed, nodding "Hagrid is bringing them." McGonagall's eyes widened, before she let out a sigh. She could never predict the older wizard's actions. "Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this?"
"Ah, Professor, I would trust Hagrid with my life." Albus hummed, truthfully. "I'm not saying his heart isn't in the right place," said Professor McGonagall grudgingly, "but you can't pretend he's not careless. He does tend to- what was that?"
A low rumbling sound had broken the silence around them. It grew steadily louder as they looked up and down the street for some sign of a head light; it swelled to a road as they both looked up at the sky. A huge motorbike fell out of the air and landed on the road in front of them.
"Hagrid," Dumbledore spoke, relieved at the sight of the half giant. "At last. And where did you get that motorbike?"
"Borrowed it, Professor Dumbledore, sir." Hagrid replied, climbing off of the motorbike "Young Sirius Black lent-"
"Pa-foo?!"
Three sets of eyes turned towards the voice to see a wrapped up toddler in Hagrid's arms, big hazel eyes swinging left and right, searching for her Uncle.
"Ah, I see someone hasn't fallen asleep?" Dumbledore questioned, making Hagrid nod "This one gave me trouble all the way over here, not her brother, though."
Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall bent forward over the bundle of blankets. Inside, just visible, was a baby boy, fast asleep. Under a tuft of jet-black hair over his forehead they could see a scar, formed as a streak of lightning flowing all the way down his forehead, stopping only below his eyebrow.
"Twinsies." A tired giggle came from the toddler, as she freed her left arm to show the adults the lightning scar, she too had. Dumbledore's eyes twinkled as he glanced between the siblings, muttering "Interesting."
While McGonagall was stressing her life over it. The witch took the toddler out of Hagrid's arms, examining her. The hazel eyes lit up as she recognized the person holding her.
"Min-Min!"
The woman blushed at the stares from her colleagues, before she gently shushed the toddler. McGonagall rocked the child to sleep as she followed after Dumbledore, who carried the boy.
"Albus, do you really think it's safe, leaving them with these people?" McGonagall questioned, she didn't want to leave these children here, children she considered her grandkids.
"I've watched them all day. They're the worst sort of muggles imaginable. They really are-"
"They are the only family these children have." Dumbledore sighed, making McGonagall huffed "These children will be famous. There won't be a child in our world who doesn't know their name."
"Exactly." Dumbledore said, gently setting the boy on the doorstep of number four, Privet Drive. "They are far better off, growing up away from all of that. Until they are ready."
Dumbledore glanced at the woman, before nodding at the sleeping toddler on her shoulder. McGonagall nodded, hesitantly. The witch made sure the toddler was bundled up before setting her down. There was no way she was going to let James and Lily Potter's daughter suffer from the cold.
The two colleagues turned at the sound of crying. Hagrid was becoming a mess as he sniffled. "There, there, Hagrid. It's not really goodbye, after all."
Dumbledore bent down once again as he placed a letter on top of the little boy, addressed to the Dursley's.
"Good luck, Euphemia and Harry Potter."
