THE LEAKY CAULDRON was empty as Harry and Mia ate their dinner. Hagrid brought them back for the rest of the night.
The giant glanced between the two siblings, "You both alright? Yer very quiet."
Harry and Mia looked at each other, both thinking back to Mr. Ollivander's words. Apparently, they were famous, but Hagrid never told them for what.
"Who the hell is He Who Must Not Be Named?" Mia blurted, sitting up in her chair. "He's the one that killed our parents, didn't he? The one who gave us these bloody scars."
Harry shot his sister a look, before letting out a sigh "You know, Hagrid. We know you do."
Hagrid nodded, pushing his food away "Yeh two have to understand that not all wizards are good. Some of them go bad. A few years ago, there was one wizard who went as bad as you can go and his name was V-"
Hagrid stammered, trying to say the name but he shook his head sighing. "Maybe if you wrote it down?" Harry suggested, gently
"No, I can't spell it." the giant shook his head "Alright. Voldemort." Hagrid whispered to the siblings, making Mia brows raise before repeating "Voldemort?"
"Shush!" Hagrid told her, nervously. "It was dark times, Mia. Dark times."
"Voldemort started to gather some followers, brought 'em over to the dark side." Hagrid spoke, diving into the story "Anyone that stood up to him ended up dead. Your parents fought against him, but nobody lived once he decided to kill 'em. Nobody, not one. Except you two."
Mia clutched her head, this wasn't right. There was nothing special about her and Harry. Mia glanced at her brother, who seemed to share the same feelings. "Voldemort tried to kill us?"
Hagrid nodded, "Yes. Those ain't no ordinary cuts that you two have. A mark like that only comes from being touched by a curse and an evil curse at that."
"What happened to Voldemort?" Mia asked.
"Well, some say he died. Codswallop, in my opinion." Hagrid shook his head, "Nope, I reckon he's out there still. Too tired to carry on, but one thing's absolutely certain. Something about you two stumped him that night. That's why you both are famous. That's why everybody knows your names. You're the children who lived."
A silence settled over the three as Hagrid gave time for the siblings to adjust.
Mia shook her head, scoffing "Well, that's just great. Here I thought we would have a fresh start, maybe get to experience an actual childhood, but no." The young teen crossed her arms "Everyone we meet are going to expect magical beings, but we don't have a clue at what's going on."
