Klaus didn't sleep much that night. Every time he closed his eyes the image of Briana battered and in torn clothing from the night before shot across his eyes. He would open his own with fear only to look down and see the girl he loved sleeping peacefully beside him. He pulled her closer to him with each haunting image scared that in an insane she could be gone.
He was furious. All he had ever done since he had met Briana was try to keep her safe. He wasn't always logical in his reasons and tactics, but in the end she was safe from harm. Not this time. This time a group of witches and warlocks had set out not only to harm her, but to kill their unborn child. Klaus was seething with anger.
Finally when he realized sleep was no longer an option in the early hours of the morning, he slid out from beside Briana. Pecking her head softly as he departed.
When he entered Rousseaus it was silent. Ghostly silent. It was clear no one else was here yet, but Klaus wasn't giving up that easily. He wanted answers on how and why last nights events occurred when the witches had sworn to protect Briana in return for Klaus' help in taking down Marcel.
Klaus paced throughout the small kitchen, his mind racing with all the different ways he would end Sophie Deveraux and her gaggle of incompetent witches when given the opportunity. Briana's helpless eyes burned into his mind with each step he took, the rage inside him only growing.
As the door slowly creaked open, Sophie Devereaux had just barely taken a foot inside her kitchen before Klaus sped towards her, grabbing her in his arms and taking her back to the plantation to get the answers he so desperately needed.
"We had a deal!" Klaus yelled as he threw Sophie down on the chair, the hybrid towering over her, "You protect my girl friend and my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain you allowed Briana to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches." Klaus spoke as he paced. Finally taking a seat on the couch next to Sophie with Rebekah resting on its arm.
"I had nothing to do with it, I swear." Sophie defended. Her voice was sincere, but Klaus in his anger and paranoia was never going to buy it.
"Briana and I are linked, remember? If she dies, I die." Sophie expressed. Klaus shifted uncomfortably in his seat with a cold expression.
"Well then who were they then?" Rebekah questioned angrily.
"They're a faction of extremists." Sophie expressed, "Sabine stupidly wolf them about some vision she had about the baby."
"What kind of vision?" Klaus inquired.
"She has them all the time. They're totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong about this one."
"Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Klaus questioned leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees.
Sophie hesitated before speaking, "Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all witches."
As the words left Sophie's lips, Briana entered the room holding a coffee mug, filled with tea to keep her from vomiting, close to her chest.
"Ah, well, I grow fonder by this child by the second." Klaus spoke a little too cheerfully.
Briana rolled her eyes at his remark, "I see I'm right on time." She spoke making her presence known.
Klaus rose to his feet when he noticed Briana standing in the other corner of the room. He made his way over to her noticing that the color in her face had returned.
"Now I see where you snuck off to this morning." Briana said quietly as Klaus greeted her with a hug, pressing his lips softly to her temple.
"Are you feeling alright? You should be resting." Klaus whispered like he didn't want anyone else to hear his concern. Briana cracked a small smile before placing her hand on Klaus' shoulder.
