Miles had gotten used to swinging atop the city's dark rooftops with someone who symbolically shared his radioactive spider blood but this was his first time doing it with someone who shared his actual human blood.
Following his uncle Aaron wearing that dark suit was definitely weird but also exciting.
Prowler halted and stopped his nephew from proceeding any further. He looked down at an alley until he saw a door he recognised.
"Yeah, this is the place." he said
Miles jumped off the rooftop, reaching the alley in no time whereas Aaron descended more cautiously. Once he arrived at the ground he looked at his nephew who was in turn looking at him and asked: "That didn't hurt?"
"No."
"At all?"
"I do this all the time. I've grown pretty tough."
"You're stronger than me. Stronger than most. That's good. Amazing."
Prowler pointed at the door to make Spider-Man see it but didn't say a thing. The boy promptly asked: "So what are we here for?"
"There's this guy from Mexico City called The Scorpion. Maximus Gargan is his name."
"What's his deal?"
"He noticed the power hole left in NYC and wanted to fill it, then expand. He basically wants to become the new Kingpin."
Miles was told that Aaron was no good but now that the Prowler had invited him to join him he could finally prove that there was some good in him after all.
"Right... so you wanted my help to stop him! I get it."
"What? No." he replied, turning around.
Miles felt something cold in his chest.
"What do you mean no? It's what I do."
"Not this time, it isn't. I want you to meet him and get on his good side."
He realised that the pain he felt wasn't just cold but also sharp, like metal.
"You're kidding. I'm not!"
"Oh, really?" he scoffed "So what will you do?"
"I'm Spider-Man. It's my duty to stop him. Parker didn't surrender to Fisk and I'm not gonna work with this coño."
"Hey! I don't know what you said but don't you dare say any of that Spanish bullshit in front of him. He's different, Miles. You can't take him."
"How are you so sure?"
"Because... because I helped him... I messed up, okay?! I gave him something without thinking ahead and there's no going back. He's not human, if you don't make him your ally, he will kill you."
Miles thanked his mask for hiding his anger. "So you helped this guy? I'm out." he said, turning around
"No, you're not!"
"Hell yeah, I am! No way I'm gonna let you ruin what this symbol means."
Miles raised his arm, ready to swing away when Aaron desperately attempted one last time to stop him, this time not holding back.
"I'll tell Jefferson."
He turned around in disbelief and told him: "You wouldn't."
"I have the proof. If you don't come with me, I'll tell your parents what you are."
"Uncle Aaron, come on now... you're not like this. I know you wouldn't tell on me like this." he said, showing his hands.
"I know my brother. He fucking hates those mutants and everything in between. If he had the power he would lock them all up and, let me tell you from personal experience, he wouldn't make a difference just because you're his family."
