Black Racer ran past everyone else at the station as fast as she could. For everyone else, it took her an instant to arrive at Diamondback's room, for her that equaled an eternity.

She found that the lights were still on but she had fallen asleep in her chair. Ariana slowed down and walked at a normal pace, as she got closer to her friend she noticed that she was struggling in her sleep.

When she finally arrived next to her she could hear her weakly whispering pleads and begging.

"...no... get away... let me go..." she whispered as she felt a nightmarish pain

"Rachel..." said Ariana, placing the palm of her hand on her forehead, "He's not here, Rachel. It's me."

Rachel opened her eyes, still agitated but when she saw Ariana her breathing slowly returned to moderate pacing. She fixed her posture and touched her forehead, noticing a cold sweat plaguing it.

"Thanks for that..." she said, not even questioning why the other girl was there.

"Diamondback, I know you just woke up but you have to see this."

She watched annoyed as Racer took out a letter from her pocket. It was weird seeing a genuine, real letter in a world where everyone would rather use the alternatives. This one had a red letter 'X' stamped on it that made her guess who the sender was before even opening it.

"We found it on Fin. He was beaten to a pulp along with three other guys in an alley."

Rachel opened the envelope and read the contents, keeping a frown the whole time. The letter was short, straight to the point and exactly the way she thought it would be. She crumpled it up and headed over to the room's exit.

"I'll give them what they want..."

Now that she was no longer the woman in charge, Monica had to strike a deal with this Coulson fellow from the secret services. Thanks to him, they would not only cure the captured Skulls of their powers, they also arranged for a little showdown.

The team stood on a building identical to any other, some perched on top of a water tank. The neighbourhood they were now in was evacuated along with all the bordering ones. It was necessary, considering what was about to come.

The Serpent Skulls received their invitation. On their way to the address, they invaded the streets, crawled out of manholes and even flew across the sky, with and without wings. Lana watched as they surrounded them and wondered how many they could have been. Perhaps hundreds, though perhaps in a city so large they could have been half a thousand.

"Hey, boss." Jimmy told Jess sarcastically "Can I stab at least one of them? Pretty please?"

"No. We're The Utimates, we're here to teach them a lesson."

A war was about to be fought and it was the only way this could have ended. A war on the level of Utopia and Tian, one that none of the participants could have predicted. But those creeps, perverts and thieves went too far and Spider-Woman couldn't let them get away.

And one day kids will beg the adults to tell them all about the Battle of New York and the ones that were there will ask "Which one?". So the kids will reply: "The one with the Ultimates."

"Yes. But which one?"

It started when Bombshell made the sidewalk next to the building explode on Jessica's command, in the meantime Dagger took care of the ones hovering above them. The explosion gave the others room to drop down, they had to keep a distance but still needed to be decently close.
