** Dannie's pov **

It was Christmas Eve and I was currently going absolutely insane.

All of the grid had decided to put aside their professional grievances and come together on Christmas Eve for a couple of hours before they left for their own festivities. While it seemed all sweet and innocent, it also meant that there had to be enough food for twenty drivers and their occasional plus-one's or kids that tagged along as well. It was utterly chaotic.

Thankfully Max was very open and willing to host the event at his place as it was more than likely the biggest out of the drivers. And was easiest for the kids as well due to his girlfriend's kid, Penelope or P, having a lot of toys and things to entertain the other kids with.

What was driving me insane? The fact that my clingy boyfriend would not let me leave his side because of what happened the last time I was around alcohol. But also with the holiday cheer he wanted to make sure that I wasn't feeling left out with my lack of alcohol. Something that he had decided to do in solidarity with me. The entire evening he had not even had a sip of an adult beverage.

"I can't believe that Lando actually has a girlfriend." Daniel started and paused when Lando started to interject, "It's just so funny that he is now known for being Dannie's racer boyfriend." he finished speaking and the rest of the men chuckled.

I watched as his bottom lip pouted out slightly before leaning over and placing a light peck on his temple, "Ignore him, at least you never walked into a Grand Prix with ridiculous looking sideburns and a goatee." I smirked back towards the older Aussie man.

Everyone laughed much harder at the absurdity of that moment than at his original joke. Daniel squinted his eyes towards me before flipping me off,

"Hey! There are children around and I don't mean Oscar or Logan." I chided back while reaching over and jokingly covered Logan's eyes with my palm.

Since I started coming around the paddock more I've grown close with the lone American. He's become a proper friend of mine. Maybe it helped that I switch back and forth between living in America and the UK. Besides Lewis, none of the other drivers willingly spend time in the states.

Lando wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer against his side which I was surprised was even possible. Watching as all of the drivers went back to their own conversations I lowered my head onto his shoulder, "Are you ready for more utter chaos tomorrow morning?" Lando whispered to me.

Right, tomorrow morning. With the surprising fact that all of our immediate family had been properly introduced to each other, my mother and father decided that since we had the extra room they would host the first Norris-Kim-Nicoli Christmas. Lando's family would be arriving early in the morning at around ten o'clock whilst me and Lando would be heading there as soon as we left the party.
