THE MORNING SUN PEEKED THROUGH the hotel curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. Maggie groaned, rolling over in bed, her head pounding with the aftermath of last night's celebrations. She winced, trying to recall the events that led her to this point, bits and pieces flashing through her mind—Oscar's smile, the spinning dance floor, the bathroom confession.

Maggie sat up slowly, rubbing her temples. She reached for her phone on the nightstand, squinting at the bright screen. A notification popped up—a message from Oscar. Her heart skipped a beat.

oscar
morning. how are you feeling? need anything?

She smiled, her headache momentarily forgotten. Before she could reply, another message came in.

oscar
also, remember what we talked about last night? just wanted to check if you're still up for that talk. no pressure though

Maggie took a deep breath, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. She remembered everything—how she'd told Oscar about her feelings, how he'd responded with such warmth and understanding. She wasn't going to back out now.

maggie
perfect. see you soon x

Maggie dragged herself out of bed, freshened up, and put on a casual outfit. She took one last look in the mirror, smoothing down her hair and taking a deep breath before heading out of the room.

Downstairs in the hotel café, Oscar was already seated at a corner table, a coffee in hand. He looked up as Maggie approached, a smile spreading across his face.

"Hey, Mags," he greeted her, standing up to pull out a chair for her.

"Hi," she replied, her nerves easing slightly at the sight of his familiar, kind face.

They sat down, and after ordering breakfast, there was a brief moment of silence. Maggie was the first to break it.

"So...about last night," she began, her voice soft. "I meant every word I said."

Oscar nodded, his eyes focused on hers. "I'm really glad to hear that. I've been waiting for this since Monaco."

Maggie smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "I know, and I'm sorry it took me so long to say something. But I'm ready now. I want to see where this goes."

Oscar reached across the table, taking her hand in his. "I want that too, Mags. Whatever happened in the past, let's leave it there. We can start fresh."

Maggie squeezed his hand, a sense of relief washing over her. "Yeah, a fresh start sounds perfect."

As they finished their meal, Oscar leaned back in his chair, a playful grin on his face. "So, does this mean I finally get to kiss you now?"

Maggie laughed, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Yes, I believe that was part of the deal."

"Good," Oscar said, standing up and offering his hand to her. "Because I've been waiting a long time for this."

Maggie took his hand, standing up as well. As they walked out of the cafe together, hand in hand, their future suddenly seemed a lot brighter.

They walked through the streets of Brazil until Oscar led Maggie down a small alleyway, out of sight from wandering eyes.

"Oscar what are we doing here?" Maggie asked.

The sounds of the city faded into the background as they found themselves alone, hidden from view. Oscar locked his eyes onto hers with an intensity that made her breath hitch.

"Mags," he began, his voice low and filled with a tenderness that made her heart race. "I've been waiting for the right moment to do this."

Before she could respond, Oscar closed the distance between them, cupping her face gently with his hands. His touch was warm, and Maggie felt a flutter of anticipation in her chest. The world seemed to stand still as he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, tentative kiss.

Maggie's eyes fluttered shut, and she melted into the kiss, her hands finding their way to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath her fingers. The kiss deepened, filled with all the unspoken feelings they had held back for so long. It was gentle yet passionate, a perfect reflection of everything they had been through together.

Oscar's hand slid to the back of her neck, holding her close as if he never wanted to let her go. Maggie responded in kind, her fingers curling into his shirt, pulling him closer. The kiss was everything she had imagined and more, a perfect mix of sweetness and desire.

When they finally pulled away, both slightly breathless, Oscar rested his forehead against hers, their noses touching.

"That was... worth the wait," he whispered, a smile playing on his lips.

Maggie laughed softly, her hands still resting on his chest. "Definitely worth the wait."

They stood there for a moment, savoring the closeness, the warmth of each other's presence. The city outside the alleyway continued its hustle, but in that small, hidden space, it was just the two of them.

"I've wanted to kiss you for so long," Oscar admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "And now that I have, I don't want to stop."

Maggie grinned, her heart swelling with affection. "Then don't."

Oscar didn't need any more encouragement. He kissed her again, this time with more confidence, more certainty. The world outside didn't matter. In that alleyway, under the shadows of São Paulo, Maggie and Oscar finally found the beginning of something real.
