It was Boggs that shook Amara awake the following morning. She groaned and squinted up at him.

"What?" she asked.

"Coin and Plutarch need you," he said. Amara nodded and rolled out of bed, rubbing her eyes.

He was out of the door so fast that for a moment, she wondered if him waking her up was a dream. But then she saw a flurry of activity outside her door and knew it was real.

Something was wrong.

She pulled on the grey uniform and ran out of the room, slamming right into Finnick as she did.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"I think the war is about to begin. Where are they sending you?"

"Coin and Plutarch summoned me," she said. "You?"

"Boggs requested me. I'm not sure what's happening."

Amara knew she should have turned and ran off, but something told her that if she did, she wouldn't see Finnick again.

So instead, she pulled Finnick back inside her room and threw her arms around his neck.

"I need you to be careful," she murmured into his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

"I promise," he said.

"I need you to not die," she said.

"I promise," he chuckled. She leaned away from him slightly and cupped his jaw, pressing a light kiss on his lips. She pulled away. "No."

She glanced up at him, and a laugh escaped her.

"No?" she asked. He shook his head and spun her around so that her back was pressed up against the wall.

"I'm about to go to war. You can do better than that," he said, and she saw the sparkle in his eye that she loved so much.

"I love you," she said, pressing her forehead to his.

"I know," he muttered before his lips claimed hers and every thought in her head was muted. All she could taste was him. All she could feel was him. All she wanted was him.

There was no one in this world she loved more than Finnick Odair, and she was going to spend the rest of her life proving it.

"I need you to survive," she muttered against his lips as he angled his head to capture more of her mouth.

"Don't do anything stupid like coming to rescue me, okay?" he said, but she wasn't paying attention. Every moment. Every kiss. Every brush of his hands against hers could be their last, and she wasn't going to waste a second of it.

"I need you," she breathed, and he nodded.

"I need you too," he said.

"Promise me you won't die," she said, pulling away from him slightly to look him in the eye. "Promise me this isn't the end."
