"You can't be serious," Ezra muttered when the room was dismissed. Coin was gone, but Ezra and Annie tracked down Finnick soon enough.

"What is wrong with you?" Annie asked. "We're no better than them now."

"I promise, I will explain everything after Snow's execution," he promised before he sprinted out the door. He turned in all directions, but Katniss was gone. He cursed and bumped right into Haymitch, who held up a hand.

"We need to trust her," he muttered, but for the first time in his life, Finnick was doubting Katniss' plans. If whatever she was planning- if killing Coin- didn't work, then he would have the death of another 23 children on his hands. He really wouldn't be any better than Snow.

He would have contributed to the same thing he'd spent his entire life running from.

When he threw open the doors to his and Amara's room after searching the entire mansion for Katniss, he found her sitting on their bed with a cup of tea in hand.

He paused and the two women looked up. The doors slammed behind him.

"You're going to kill her, aren't you?" Finnick asked. Katniss didn't even blink.

"Yes," she admitted. Finnick nodded.

"Good," Finnick said. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think she has the potential to be just as destructive as Snow."

"People who are in power tend to have a difficult time giving it up," Amara added. Katniss nodded in agreement, but still buried her head in her hands. "I'm not surprised that she wants to have another Hunger Games."

"It won't end with one," he said. He plopped himself down beside them and took a sip of Amara's tea. She glared at him. "Once people get a taste for revenge, it won't go away. Coin will find an excuse for the games to continue."

"She needs to be stopped," Amara agreed. They both glanced over at Katniss.

"When I'm gone--" Katniss began, and both Finnick and Amara surged toward her.

"What do you mean 'when you're gone'?" Finnick snapped. Katniss hesitated. She knew they would never allow her to go through with the plan if they knew about the nightlock pill she had stashed away. She knew they would insist on finding another way.

So, she lied.

"I mean that the best case scenario here is that I'm thrown in jail for treason," Katniss reasoned. Amara narrowed her eyes as she studied the woman.

"I think being the Mockingjay gives you a leg up," Amara said, but Katniss shook her head.

"No, they won't pardon me," she said. "They want freedom, and freedom requires limitations. Assassinating the president would be one of those limitations."

Finnick studied her for another moment.

"What is it that you need?" he asked quietly.

"Look after Peeta when I'm gone," she said, and Finnick and Amara understood.
