"What's going on?" Annie asked when Amara threw open the doors a few hours later.

"Pack your stuff," Amara muttered. "We're moving out."

"Amara?" A second voice echoed from the back of the room. Amara glanced up to see Jade, and she relaxed.

"Good, you're here. You both need to get ready to leave. The troops have taken the Capitol. They're loading up the hovercrafts. We have probably twenty minutes."

"Only twenty?" Annie asked, alarmed. She left up and grabbed a bag, quickly shoving everything she could reach into it.

"I'll help you," Amara promised, noticing how swollen Jade's stomach was. "When are you due?"

"Any day now," Jade said. Amara paused, and turned to look at her friend, guilt laced in every morsel of her being. What had she been doing? Had it really been that long since everything happened? When was the last time she checked in on Jade? "I'm not faulting you for it. You've been incredibly busy."

"That's never an excuse to let the important things slip away," Amara muttered. She pointed to a chair.

"Sit down. I'll grab your stuff and be back."

Amara ran over to Jade's room first. The room was littered with books upon books of drawings and designs Jade had done. Most of them looked like dresses for her little girl, and Amara wanted to spend all her time admiring them, but couldn't when they had so little time. She shoved everything into the largest bag she could carry before throwing it over her shoulder and walking across the hall.

Amara hated this room. She hated its walls. She hated its drawers. She hated its cabinets.

Amara hated that everything in this room reminded her of Finnick. She had known Finnick for so long that she didn't know if there was a corner of Panem that wouldn't be tainted by his memory. She would have given anything to have him back. She would give anything to see his smile as he laughed at her while trying to kiss her.

Amara knew that Finnick would want her to move on one day, but she wasn't sure that would ever be possible. She would never find anyone like him. He was her perfection. He was her match in every way. To not be Finnick Odair was the greatest fault of any man alive. There was no one else like him, and she didn't want their to be. He was her Finnick.

Stuffing everything she could into the other large bag Thirteen provided seemed like a dishonor to their memories together, but she couldn't worry about that now. Thankfully, Amara never fully moved into the small space. Even though she lived here for months, she worked until she fell asleep. Then, she woke up and did it all over again.

When she finally made it back to Jade and Annie, there was a group of healers with them. No one greeted her when they walked in. They were all too preoccupied with getting Jade into the wheelchair to safely transport her.
