The ankle is fine

Isla's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring into my ear. I need to stop leaving my phone next to my head when I go to bed. I roll over to my back, stretching out all my limbs, making sure to crack my back in the process. I finally get to my feet and look at the time on my phone, 6:30. That gives me an hour to get ready as training starts at 8:30, and it takes 30 minutes to get there. I go into the shower and start my morning routine, prepping for the long training session today. I also have to find a way to lie to multiple people about my ankle because I am not telling Jonas. If Leah finds out I am dead, I guess it would be worth it if I got in the starting lineup, which is my main priority right now. I finish my morning routine and put on an Arsenal hoodie and shorts with a pair of white trainers with 20 minutes left before I have to go. I headed into the kitchen to grab a water bottle and my kit bag, which I had left on the counter yesterday.

Millie: "Morning."

Isla: "Morning, how was last night."

Millie: "Yeah, it was good. It was just a calm night."

Sam: "Morning." she mumbles as she shuffles into the room.

Isla: "Yeah, looks like a chill night; you look trashed, Sammy."

Sam: "Yeah, thanks, Isla, how kind of you."

Isla: "Don't you guys have a game this weekend."

Millie: "Yeah."

Isla: "So, why were you drinking?"

Sam: "I was only going to have one, but Erin may have convinced me to have a few more."

Isla: "Do you have training today."

Millie: "Yeah, at 9."

Isla: "Ha, well, have fun with that, Sammy." I say as I pat her back, looking for a drink bottle in the cupboard. Sam takes a seat at one of the stools on the other side of the kitchen bench while Millie cooks their breakfast.

Sam: "Wait, how was your not date with Leah?"

Isla: "It was good; we just hung out."

Millie: "Where did she take you."

Isla: "She said we were going to dinner."

Sam: "And you're telling me it wasn't a date."

Isla: "Wait, but the thing is, she didn't take me to dinner. She took me to the hospital to get someone to look at my foot, then we went back to hers and cooked dinner." I say

Millie: "So she tricked you."

Isla: "I guess it was only a sprain; they said no training for three days."

Millie: "Well at least Leah took you because I really didn't want to force you to go to the medics today."

Sam: "But why are you dressed for training?"

Isla: "I'm still gonna go; nothing stops me."

Millie: "Yeah, I am." she says as she steps in front of me, which is actually quite intimidating as she is very much taller than me and built like a brick wall, as some would say.

Isla: "I'm just going to watch, don't worry."

Millie: "If I hear from anyone else that you set foot near a ball, you are dead." she says, looking me dead in the eyes.

Isla: "Don't worry, I'm just gonna watch."

Millie: "Okay, do you want any breakfast? I'm making eggs."
