We got back to the house and stepped inside. I felt a pang of going to miss this place. I changed out of my dress and into a pair of skinny jeans, a red flannel with a black tank, and my converse. I pulled on my black beanie and walked down the stairs. I found Vic and Kellin sitting in the living room talking about who knows what. "Hey, I'm gonna ride a little bit." I said and they both looked up at me. Kellin looked hesitant but, I pointed out its my last day here and I wouldn't be long cause I still have to pack. He gave in and told me to wear a helmet. I ignored the last part and ran to the garage. I pulled my board down and kicked off making sure to close the garage behind me.

Riding I enjoyed the night air as I breezed by. I found the skatepark I was at the other day and rode in. I brought my back pack with a water bottle and a first aid kit like I always did when I went with Tyler. I messed around for a while before I saw a kid being messed with. He was surrounded by a group of guys who defiantly didn't look like skaters. I saw the other skaters around our age actually looked nervous about them being here. I kicked my board up and caught it. I saw the guys yelling insults and profanities while actually kicking the guy around. Stepping into the circle I stopped a guy hair as he was about to go for another blow. "Leave him alone." I hissed. The guys all laughed. Well except one who was staring at me with a look of horror. "Get out of here." I said and they all laughed again. One actually reached out to touch me and on instinct I twisted his hand and heard a snap. When I was on the streets one of the first few weeks I was there I met an older guy who took a liking to me and taught me a few moves so as to make sure I could stay safe. He was a softie but ran a drug dealing business and got arrested covering for a girl barely older than me. The guy pulled back with a scream. Now all of the skaters seemed pissed off. They joined me standing between the guy and his friends. The one that had been watching me in horror pulled the other one back as he went to retaliate. I snickered confidently. I know when to be shy and when not too. "Dude, that's Wren as in Little Bird Wren. That rocker chick that's been touring with a bunch of rock bands and is joining some big record company in the summer." He said and every gawked at me. "Ooh a fan. Maybe you should find better friends." I said calmly. He seemed mad. "I'm not a fan. My little sister is." I smiled at him and he seemed taken back. "If you get your friends here to stay away from this place you can meet me here tomorrow with her and I'll give her an autograph." He looked genuinely surprised. He shoved at his friends and they all followed him wordlessly out of the park.

Turning I pushed through the crowd of gawking skaters and knelt beside the guy. I looked him overs "Someone toss me the black canvas bag on the ground over there." I said and it was tossed at me almost instantly. The guy was sitting up and I paused so he wouldn't stand. I've fixed up quite a few people so I knew he wasn't seriously injured. The nasty gash on his forehead might get infected though so I pulled out a rag. "Bite this." I said and he looked at me wearily but but down on it. I pulled out alcohol swabs and washed his cut out thoroughly. I tossed the trash in a ziplock bag and gave him a bandage. I also bandaged his knuckles before pulling him to his feet as I stood. He towered over me but, you know most people do. His shaggy brown hair covered his chocolate eyes, he looked at me curiously. He wasn't fat but wasn't scrawny. He was wearing a Sleeping with sirens t shirt and I resisted the urge to laugh. His skinny jean clad legs were Bunche slightly around his vans. I held my hand out. "Wren." I said and he smiled. "Kyle. I'm a fan." He said and I smiled. The skaters stared at me still. I turned to the crowd of boys looking at me like I was going to grow wings. "Can you guys not mention I was here? Like I'm pretty sure my dad wouldn't approve of me hanging out at a skate park with a huge group of guys then breaking ones hand." I said and they all smiled and nodded. "That was pretty cool. No one has ever stood up to them." One guy stated and the others nodded again. I flipped my hair over my shoulder. "Maybe you should. Outcast like us need to take care of each other." I said and they all laughed. I waved by and put my board down.

I started skating and made it to the exit when I felt a hand touch my arm. I looked up and smiled a Kyle. He scratched his neck nervously. "Would you . . . Uh sign my board?" He asked blushing. I smiled and pulled out a sharpie. I signed my name and new last name on his board. He looked at it and his eyes bugged. "I had no idea you were Kellin Quinn's daughter." He muttered and I laughed. "Adoptive as of this morning actually." I said and he laughed. I studied him before just asking him a weird question. "Do you play any instruments?" I asked and nearly face palmed at how stupid it sounded. "Actually I'm a drummer." I smiled and told him about forming a band. Me and Tyler agreed to hang out here after I get back from hanging out with ATL in February. So I got his number and promised to call him when I come back to town so we can jam. I'm probably gonna open on tour by myself but afterwards I'll notify the record company of my new band and record with them.

I started skating home but, stopped when I saw a ball of white fluff curled up under a trash can. I got closer and a head stuck out making me nearly scream in surprise. I noticed it was a puppy and couldn't help but hold my arms out for it. It hesitated but came to me. I scratched it and fed it some crackers that have been in my bag for who knows how long. It licked my fingers and I giggled. "That's it you are coming home with me. Let's just hope Kellin isn't up." I whispered picking it up.
