Sorry, she's not tall enough

Every year for me and Lainee's birthday, we go to Cedar Point, which is the best theme park to ever exist in case you were living under a rock. I'm so freaking excited to go this year but that's not the point.

If you've ever been to Cedar Point you'd know that the main event are the roller coasters. Personally, my favorite is the Maverick but for this story, we're going to be talking about Steel Vengeance.

The ride is made of wood and has steel tracks. If you've ever been on the ride you'd know how they're very careful about who will ride it because it goes upside-down a lot. They make you empty your pockets, go through multiple metal detectors so you don't lose anything and they check your height multiple times to make sure you're tall enough so you don't fall out.

Logan and I are both pretty tall so we were able to go on all of the rides. Lainee, not so much. I can't quite remember how old she was when this happened but currently she's 5'0 in height. Somehow, we managed to get the wristband that allowed her to go on all of the rides.

Before we went to the theme park my mom did Lainee's hair so that she had a bun directly on her head so if she wasn't tall enough we'd be able to say that the bun counted in her height. {My family is weird, I know}

Anyway, when we were in line for Steel Vengeance, she'd passed all of the height tests and they all said she was tall enough to ride it. However, when we'd reached the end of the line to where you'd be able to ride the roller coaster, there was one last check.

And the woman standing there ruined the ride for us.

We all did one last check and obviously my parents were good to go and so was Logan and I. When it was Lainee's turn, the woman said to us, "Sorry, she's not tall enough."

I don't know what was going through that woman's head when she said that because Lainee literally had the bracelet that said she was tall enough and she made it through all the other tests.

My dad tried to convince the woman that the bun on Lainee's head counted but the woman didn't care and told us she couldn't go. Just the attitude and the way this woman treated us would make anyone annoyed.

A manager walked over to us, whom we will call Billy Bob {Don't ask} and asked what the problem was. My dad told him the situation and he told us that the surface on the floor might've been uneven and that he wanted to measure Lainee on solid ground.

My dad told my mom, Logan, and I that we could ride the roller coaster while we waited for the three. We agreed, and got on the ride. Logan stayed with my dad and Lainee, however. I felt so incredibly awful and cried a little. I was really looking forward to riding with her and would've cried more if my mom hadn't told me to stop.

The ride started, and I actually had fun with my mom. We put our hands up, screamed, freaked out, and the ride was over. My mom and I got off to see Lainee smiling happily at us, saying that she was able to go on the ride.

Billy Bob apologized about the incident and let us ride the roller coaster again. I had fun and I'm sure Lainee had fun, too.

But that wasn't the best part about this story. The best part didn't happen while my mom and I were on the roller coaster, but what was happening with my dad, Logan, Lainee, and Billy Bob.

All of these details are from my family so I apologize if this isn't the 100% true story. Billy Bob took Logan, Lainee, and my dad down the stairs from the ride and onto the solid ground with the measuring thingy.

He measured Lainee and said he couldn't quite tell if she truly was tall enough because of the bun on her head. My dad insisted that the bun counted but Billy Bob asked to get rid of the bun. My dad then tried to get the hair tie out of Lainee's hair but all he did was make a gigantic knot on Lainee's head.

A woman with a lot of hair walked by and my dad asked for some help. She walked over, grabbed the hair tie, and easily lifted it from her hair.

My dad thanked the woman for it and she smiled and continued on her way. Billy Bob successfully measured Lainee and told us that she was tall enough to ride the roller coaster. By that time the ride was almost over so the four of them raced up the stairs to meet us.

My dad told Lainee before they got on the ride to smile at the woman who stopped us before. Lainee did, and the woman just gave us a nasty look.

I'm grateful how secure Cedar Point is with their guests, but PLEASE hire people who won't do stuff like that.
