{Look at Leah when she was a baby :3}
To any guys reading this you can go ahead and skip this one. For all my lady friends reading this here is the story of how I got my first period.
So I got my period when I was nine and I was in 4th grade. This was most likely during the summer because I can't remember having school during this time.
My mom was out grocery shopping or something like that and to keep my siblings and I entertained my dad started an episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia with us. We don't watch episodes of the show very often but whenever we do it's either Chardeemackdenis or The Gang Hits The Road.
We were watching The Gang Hits The Road and as Charlie and Mack were asking why Dee didn't get a radio for her new car (Or something like that) I felt a feeling I'd never felt before, a sort of gushing feeling. I announced that I needed to go to the bathroom and left the living room and went downstairs to the bathroom.
I saw there was a bunch of stuff in my underwear and I had no idea what it was. I wasn't really that scared, I was more confused. I probably thought something like, "What the heck? Why is there stuff in my underwear? Did I crap myself or something? What is happening??"
I went back upstairs and said with gritted teeth, "Excuse me, I'm going to go change my underwear." After I did that I came back downstairs to the living room and we finished the episode.
I sat in my room most likely playing with Barbie Dolls when my mom came into my room and said to me, "Hey, Lillyan, Dad said you told him you had to change your underwear?" I nodded and my mom asked, "Can I see it?"
I got up, showed her my dirty underwear, and she sat down on my bed and said that she needed to talk to me. She explained to me that I'd gotten my period and explained what a period was and told me that it was blood in my underwear.
Because she told me it was blood, I thought it meant I was going to bleed to death. So I did what I do best: I broke down crying.
AND MY MOM STARTED LAUGHING AT ME.
Trying to not laugh and miserably failing my mom asked me, "Lillyan, are you okay?"
Through tears and in a muffled voice I answered with, "Yeah, I just learned that I'm going to bleed to death through my vagina! No, I'm not okay!"
Still laughing my mom said, "Lillyan, you're not gonna die!"
The next day my mom bought me some pads and now I've had like thirty-seven periods and I don't break down crying whenever I do. I might a week before though because ✨PMS✨
