Chapter 8

BEAU

"Biatch, I've missed you!"

Napangiti ako saka tumayo at mabilis na niyakap si Ray ng pumasok ito sa loob ng aking opisina. Alam kong kanina pa sila dumating pero pumunta muna ito kay Clementine bago sa akin.

"I've missed you, too, Ray-Ray!" I giggled as I kissed his cheeks.

Ray is one of my bestfriends. He is the older one among us. He is also the one who teach me self defense and to hold a gun properly.

Sa England siya nakatira dahil andun ang nakakabatang kapatid ni Clementine na si Edward, at saka andun din nakatira ang asawa't anak nito.

"Lemme guess, na-sermonan ka na naman nung isa." ani ko at natawa.

"Well, I'm used to it." Ray shrugged his shoulder. "Let's go, I'm hungry."

Pagdating sa pagkain kaming dalawa ang magkakampi. Actually, mas close sa akin si Ray compared to Mallory and Clementine.

Ray is like a brother to me.

"Let's go, I'm kinda hungry too." I replied as I get my phone on my desk. "Where do you want to eat?" I asks.

"May malapit ba na kainan dito, I'm starving and I don't think my stomach can wait any longer." he laughed.

"Sa students cafeteria nalang tayo, mas malapit yun dito." aya ko at nauna ng lumabas.

Pagkarating namin sa cafeteria ay si Ray na ang nag-order ng kakainin namin dahil ako ang naghanap ng mauupuan. Nakahanap naman ako agad sa may malapit sa may entrance.

"You should try this carbonara." sumandok si Ray ng carbonara at isinubo ito sa akin. Kinain ko ito at ninanamnam ang lasa.

"I'm not that fond of carbonara but I'll give that one a 5." I said which earned me a groan from him since his favorite food is carbonara.

Patuloy lang kami sa pagkain at hindi pinapansin ang mga usap-usapan ng mga studyante sa loob. Naiingayan na ako pero gutom ako ngayon.

"They thought we are in a relationship." Ray chuckled in a manly manner that cause the other students to squeal.

I admit that Ray is handsome, so I'm not surprised if a lot of students will ogle on him. He's half filipino and half italian.

Shrugging my shoulder, I respond. "Let them be."

"You have some sauce on your cheek." kinuha ni Ray ang napkin sa mesa at pinunas iyon sa pisngi ko, dahilan upang mas lalong maghiwayan ang mga studyante sa loob ng cafeteria.

"Thank yo—"

Hindi ko naituloy ang aking sasabihin ng masagip ng aking mga mata si Rodriguez na mukhang wala sa mood, she's not in her usual self.

Hindi rin ito nakatingin sa gawi ko ngayon.

Sa tuwing pumupunta kami ni Clementine dito sa cafeteria ay walang oras na hindi ako nito inaasar, kahit pa na nasa malayo ako ay tinatawag na nito ang pangalan ko.

Until today...

"Is something wrong, Beau?" Ray asked.

I shook my head. "Nothing, I'll just get some water for us."

A student cafeteria is free, pero hindi lahat. May ibang students kasi na demanding kaya hindi lahat sa loob ay libre.

I stood up from my seat when I saw Martinez leaving their table, at pumunta sa counter kaya agad akong sumunod.
