Chapter Ninety-Four

"It all makes sense now!" Master came to an epiphany during our walk to the hangar.

Me and Obi-Wan looked at each-other as I shrugged, "What?" He asked what we were both wondering.

"If Ahsoka hadn't left the order, she wouldn't have been where she needed to be!" Anakin said, he sounded delusional, but maybe he was right.

"That's one way to look at it...I suppose." Obi-Wan said, keeping his eyes ahead. I could tell he was trying to compute what exactly was about to happen with Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, Mandalore, and probably Satine.

"The force does work in mysterious ways..."

"And it's the only way to look at it." Anakin ran in-front of us. "We're gonna capture Maul finally. I thought you would be more excited about this?"

For a second I wondered why Anakin was looking for Obi-Wan to have so much optimism, but then I realized, Maul had killed Qui-Gon Jin, his master.

"I am cautiously optimistic." Obi-Wan said, moving past him, looking up at the ship passing through the shield, it was Mandalorian.

I watched Obi-Wan's movements with a pang of pity. These days he looked tired, exhausted even.

The ship landed before us. The loading ramp lowered as Ahsoka walked out followed by Bo-Katan. I hadn't seen either of them in quite some time.

Bo-Katan since Mandalore, and Ahsoka since I convinced Obi-Wan and Anakin to sneak me her supplies after she left the order.

R2 beeped excitedly, further killing the notion that droids had no emotions. He rolled over to her as she placed an endearing hand on his dome.

"Ahsoka I'm so glad to-"

She placed a hand halfway in the air, "Well have to catch up another time." She said promptly. "Things are moving quickly."

"Every minute we waste here, gives Maul and opportunity to slip away." Bo-Katan said, holding her helmet on her hip.

We all glanced at eachother, realizing this wasn't a reunion but a meeting of cooperation. "We understand. Please, follow me." Obi-Wan said.

I turned around as Anakin hung back. "Once this is all over I'm sure we can all catch up." I said to him.

"Yeah..." he replied, and walked besides me, following Obi-Wan to the conference room.

We all gathered around the holo table, Ahsoka standing next to me but neither of us uttered a direct word to each other. It was as if we were both strangers, but we knew that was impossible.

"Bo-Katan had been tracking Maul's movements for several months." Ahsoka said, something me and Obi-Wan both knew, Anakin partially. "I was able to obtain some transmission codes from the Pykes on Oba Diah, which helped her pinpoint some of his previous locations."
