Chapter One-Hundred-Two
The seconds seemed to pass by for an eternity. Me, Padmé and Anatoli quickly walked back to the communications room interrupting the group in deep conversation.
"Even I felt it." Ahsoka said, "Surely the Chancellor knows."
"The orders can only be executed towards clone Commanders." Master Kolar said.
"We need to contact every Jedi that's currently off world, and tell them to order their commanders to close all comm links!" I said.
"There's not nearly enough time." Mace Windu said. "We need to apprehend the Chancellor immediately.
"That won't help!" Padmé said. "He will turn this on the Jedi, and the Senate will be too far gone for me or other like minded senators to turn around."
"We'll have to contact their admirals, then that message will have to trickle down." Rex suggested.
"We need to hurry then." Anakin exclaimed.
"We can't access all that information here." Ahsoka typed into the holocomputer. "We'll help bridge the transmission through."
Master Fitso typed vigorously into the holotable. Multiple figures appeared, Jedi and Admirals.
The recipients clamored together, wondering why such a massive call was taking place in the middle of their own battles.
"Has something happened?" Obi-Wan asked looking around at the unusual faces that appeared in a what seemed like a council meeting.
"Darkness, looms over us all." Master Yoda replied, his hologram flickering.
"There is a malfunction in the Clones inhibitor chips." Mace Windu said. "All Generals order your clone commanders to shut off all communications. Admirals direct this message to your Generals immediately."
Once the Admirals left the call, Aayla Secura finally asked the burning question. "What is going on?" Her voice full of concern mixed with Jedi stoicism.
"The Chancellor has been revealed to be the Dark Lord we've been looking for." I answered.
"But why order our commanders to shut off their communications?" Asked Master Shaak Ti. "What exactly is the Chancellors plan?"
Rex answered. "From further investigation from Clone Trooper Five's case, we found a series of contingency plans, one including the extermination of all Jedi personnel."
The group murmured amongst themselves. "Have we sent for the Chancellors Arrest?" Obi-Wan asked.
"The Clones have been ordered to do such." Mace Windu informed. "A battalion of Clones has been sent to arrest the Chancellor with brute force, if needed."
"Work, this may not." Master Yoda said. "Alert the Temple, you must."
Mace protested "We could cause panic-"
"To preserve our own, we must. Dark times we are in...very dark." Yoda's hologram flickered and vanished.
"I will alert all off-world Jedi to return to the Temple." Obi-Wan said.
"Young Aviss." Mace Windu turned to me.
"Yes, Master?"
"Take your Padawan, and alert mine to notify all Temple personnel that we're going into lockdown." I nodded and ushered Anatoli to follow, then I felt something powerful in the force, something dark.
