The Second Padawan

Chapter Forty-Four

"Just perfect." Ahsoka said getting up from the floor. She reached her hand out and I took it.

"Come one! Get up, we have to keep Moving!" Master shouted, trying to get the doors open. Our gunship had landed on its left wing.

We got out or lightsabers and deflected the shots coming from the Geonosians and the droid ships. Master was pushing forwards while me and Ahsoka provided defense for the Clones.

"They're pushing back! Come on!" Ahsoka called for the Clones to push on. We were inching closer to the wall Master specifically told us not to worry about.

"Rex, try to contact Commander Cody and Obi-Wan." I ran to cover behind a rock with him. "We don't have any tanks we're going to need his support." He nodded and began trying to transmit a signal.

I jumped over the rock to help Master and Ahsoka. It was starting to get harder to see with all the dust being created by the fire fight. I remember the goggles in my pouch, the ones Jado gave me. I put them on and could see past the dust.

"Where'd you get those?" Master asked as I walked past him, blocking the blasters from the turrets.

"I...uh a friend gave them to me."

Master jumped back behind the rock to Rex, and asked him if he was able to to get in contact. "I think their gunship got shot down."

Me and Ahsoka joined them. "The one time I ask Obi-Wan for help, he's nowhere to be found." Master scowled.

"Well, what if something happened to General Kenobi?" Ahsoka said. "He could be injured or.."

"No time for that kind of talk!" Master replied. "Rex, we need to mobilize. Now. Get the men together. We're gonna rush the guns."

"Yes sir!"

"You two," Master addressed us. "You're with me. We need to give Rex cover when we attack."

"Got it..just give the word." She sounded troubled.

"Hey, I'm worried about him too, But you need to keep your mind in the here and now."

"Don't worry Ahsoka, Obi-Wan is still alive, I can sense him." I added.

"We're all here sir." Rex said, bringing a few clones with him.

"Ready..." Master peaked over the rock. "Now!" We jumped over the rock and ran ahead of the Clones, giving them cover.

Ahsoka ran directly behind me, giving the illusion there was only one of us. I got close enough to the gunner where Ahsoka could leap from behind me and slice him and the gun down. Master and the Clones took out the other four.

We ran up a rocky hill and reached an impasse. I rocognized it from the holomaps Master explicitly told us to review. We finally reached the giant wall Ahsoka pointed out earlier. Droids at the top of the wall started shootings at us.

We took cover behind more large rocks. "Well this is another fine mess you got us into." Ahsoka deactivated her lightsaber.

"What? Hey, it's not my fault!"

"It is!" Interjected.

"I told both of you to study the holomaps!"

"We did!" Me and Ahsoka said in unison.

"Remember, when we reminded you about the giant wall!?" Ahsoka shouted as a bomb was launched meters away from us. "And you were all like "Don't worry about it Snips"." She gestures and mocked him with her hands.

I moved my hands like they were Master talking "'We're not going anywhere near that' And I quote."

"Just get ready to climb." He pointed to the cliff on out right.
