It was a clear night when Rebecca and her family arrived way too late at Malfoy Manor. She nervously held onto Regulus arm. "What the hell calm down," Regulus said amused and carefully pushed her hands away. Regulus knew his twin sister better than the back of his hand. He wanted her to be happy even if it had to be with an idiot like Lucius Malfoy but since it was Lucius wedding day he didn't want to see her hurting.
That's why he had something slip in his parents tea that morning. The potion made them sleep so deep and long that the ceremony was already over when they had woken up.

Regulus was taken far away from the rest of the family while Rebecca was seated right next to Septimus. She didn't greet him. She only had eyes for the wedding couple. Lucius stood there in the Center of the room. He looked way too good in his black suit and tie while his long platinum blonde hair were sleeked back. Right next to him was the bride. Narcissa Black now Malfoy. Her thoughts got interrupted as the groom's father started his speech.

Abraxas held a golden glass up. "We welcome bride and groom. I am honoured that Narcissa is now part of our family..." He took a sip like everyone else out of his glass and then put it aside. "...Well I am not a man with many words but I know what we need now," he clapped into his hand, "music." A band started playing classical music while Lucius and Narcissa started their first dance as a married couple.

Lucius looked like he didn't enjoyed it being there he started to look around the room while Narcissa held on him like her life depended on it.
Rebecca followed their movement and her heart sunk as she made eye contact with her former boyfriend. She let her gaze fade and looked down while her face hid under her hair.

"You should smile more," said the annoying voice next to her, "or people will think you are up to something."
Rebecca huffed and looked at Septimus. "Please you hate me and I hate you. You don't need to be jealous. We are just in this situation because of our parents."
Septimus smiled teasing at her while leaning slightly towards her. "Oh but I am not the one who is in love with the groom."

Rebecca's parents had quietly followed the conversation between those two. They knew how impertinent their daughter could be. "Shhh Rebecca be quiet now," Walburga said. "Yes go dance with your fiancé," Orion continued as other guests had joined the dance floor.

Amused Septimus took her hand and brought her to the dance floor. "You can dance right?" Rebecca rolled her eyes but before they could even start their dance their conversation got interrupted by Lucius and his bride.

"Oh Rebecca I'm so glad you could make it. Your mother told us you have been very sick the past few weeks. Are you feeling better?" Her cousin asked. Rebecca's eyes switched between Lucius and Narcissa. She nervously held onto her medallion that Lucius gifted her. She never took it off. "Yes I feel so much better," Rebecca said with a lump in her throat. Narcissa turned towards her husband with a euphoric smile. "We are so happy to hear that, right?"
Lucius nodded and never looked away from Rebecca's face.  He looked at every facet of her face. Trying to burn her beauty into his memory so he wouldn't forget anything about her. "Yes we are," he finally said.

For a moment there was quietness between them.

"Have you two already decided on a date?" Cissy asked. "No," Rebecca immediately answered but quickly got corrected by Septimus. With an evilish grin he said: "next month. The invitations should be out any day now." "That's amazing. I'm really looking forward to it," Narcissa said while completely ignoring Rebecca's "no".  Septimus smile got even darker as he talked further. "Me too. I can't wait to finally start a family with her." He laid his arm around Rebecca's hip making her feel uncomfortable. Lucius shifted in his position. He made himself taller and his facial expression looked angry as he saw his younger brother touch his former girlfriend. Septimus knew he would make his fiancé and his older brother uncomfortable and angry with his statement but he enjoyed every second of it.

Even Narcissa felt the mood changing but didn't want to hear anything about the problem with each other. With her happy nature she continued: "How exciting. I totally understand that. Lucius and I can't wait to expect soon."

Even the thought of Lucius touching Narcissa brought tears to her eyes. She still loved him way too much to just stay there watching how he continues his life. She let go of the medallion around her neck and held her hand above her eyes to hide the tears. "I'm sorry I need some air." She apologised and quickly walked away from them without looking up.

Septimus just chuckled quietly and let her walk away while Lucius eyes watch her leave.

"Well anyways enjoy the rest of the evening," Cissy smiled at her brother in law. "Thank you Cissy and again welcome to the family." Septimus mockingly touched Lucius shoulder and walked away to other guest. Not caring where his fiancé just went.

Narcissa held onto Lucius arms and dragged him with her to other guest while his thoughts are still about his former girlfriend. She looked so broken.

Rebecca had walked for a few minutes through the mansion. She finally broke down in a corridor far away from the other guest. She was so far away she couldn't even hear the music or people talking. Her body slid down the wall while her face was buried in her hands.

Rebecca looked up as someone cleared his throat. "My dear why are you crying?" There was a portrait hanging on the wall. An old thicker woman with long white hair looked down on her. "I'm sorry I didn't see you. I'll go." Rebecca got back on her feet. Couldn't she be left alone for one minute? Was that too much?

"Wait!," the woman stood up from her chair that she was painted on. "I know you. You are Rebecca Black."
She nodded. "Do we know each other?"
The old woman smiled friendly. "Oh no darling I have died a long time ago. I am Lucius grandmother. He told me about you." Rebecca's cheeks slightly blushed on the thought of Lucius talking about her. "Wait a second my dear. I'll be as fast as I can." Without waiting for an answer the portrait was empty. The old woman had walked away. How long should she wait here? What was her intention?
