Dev POV
As I returned to my tasks, my phone buzzed moments later, drawing my attention away once again.
It was a message from one of the men I assigned to gather information about the girl. "Leave," I commanded Aman, my tone firm and decisive.
He shot me a defiant side-eye before finally acquiescing and leaving the room.
I perused the information about the girl. So her name is Aarohi, the one who has captured my 'rooh'. She's Malhotra's daughter. This might prove to be quite challenging, I suppose.
[ soul ]As I delved deeper into the information, a profound sadness washed over me. It shattered my soul to learn that she was already engaged. Is she fated to be with another? Does she hold someone else's love in her heart? The realization pierced through me like a dagger, leaving me to grapple with the weight of unrequited feelings.
The realization hit me like a relentless storm, piercing my heart like a thousand needles. Someone else would bask in the paradise of her eyes, breathe in her scent, and become the reason for her smile. The thought tore through me, leaving behind a hollow ache that seemed impossible to fill.
I want her to be happy. If she finds happiness with her fiancé, who am I to disrupt her perfect life by meddling in it? I reasoned with myself, acknowledging the reality of the situation. Besides, it's just an attraction. I'll get over it. This feeling won't linger in my heart for long. With a determined resolve, I vowed to let go of any lingering hopes and focus on moving forward.
As my phone beeped once more, a text from Gabriel informed me that the man responsible for the arson in our warehouse had been found.
Without hesitation, I rushed out of the office, accompanied by Aman, to my secret hideout, the domain of my darker endeavours.
To my family and employees, I may appear as a regular human being, and from the outside, everything may seem perfect. However, beneath the facade lies my darkest self, an aspect of me that nobody is aware of, one consumed by a thirst for revenge.
I don't spare anyone who dares to mess with my family and loved ones, period.
As Aman and I entered my hideout, a hushed silence fell over the room. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation, and I could feel the tension thickening with every step. Today, they were in for a surprise, and they had no inkling of what was about to transpire.
As I entered the room, my eyes landed on a man tied to a chair, his body trembling with fear the moment he caught sight of me.
Gabriel pointed out, "Sir, he's the one." "No, Gabriel," I retorted sharply, "all I see is a corpse."
The moment those words escaped my lips, I could see the fear etched across his face, his body trembling as if he sensed his impending demise.
With a knife in one hand, I brought it close to his neck vein, while the other gripped his hair from behind, eliciting a wince of pain from him. "A name, Robert?" I demanded, my voice cold and unwavering.
"It was Mr. Akash Sahani," he confessed, his words strained with terror.
It was easy. Even after his confession, I wouldn't let him off easy. He wouldn't face a painful death, but he wouldn't escape punishment either.
I directed Gabriel to handle him, making sure his destiny mirrored that of the impending corpse.
I refuse to let my mood sour today. Her face keeps appearing in my mind, and I can't bring myself to do anything wrong.
