Dev POV
Confessing my feelings to her was the most courageous act of my life. Previously, I had never feared losing anything, but as I summoned the courage to tell her how I felt, I was overwhelmed with fear. I was terrified of losing her, of facing rejection, and of the possibility of never seeing her again.
When she accepted my confession, I felt like the happiest man alive. She agreed to be mine and allowed me to be hers. I resolved never to let her cry because of anyone or anything.
As she whispered, "Thank you," her eyes sparkled with a magical brilliance that left me utterly enchanted.
As dusk approached, she remarked, "We should leave now. It's getting dark, and since this is a secluded area, it will take time to get home." Nodding in agreement, I helped her take off her skates, and we began our walk back.
While we walked, she asked, "You customized this pendant, right?"
"Yes, did you not like it?" I asked with concern, glancing at her.
"It's very beautiful, and I love it! If I had said no, would you have thrown it away?" she teased with a playful hint in her voice.
"I would have stalked you until you said yes," I chimed in.
She scoffed and replied, "That's so creepy." Despite her casual tone, my heart sank, worrying about how she'd react if she knew I had stalked her. Would she leave me? The mere thought of it made my steps falter as I became lost in anxious contemplation.
I decided to keep this to myself and tell her when the time felt right. Reaching the car, we settled in, and I couldn't help but notice how she kept touching the pendant, a smile playing on her lips. The sight of her so happy and content warmed my heart.
As I watched her, my smile grew, feeling a mixture of relief and joy. Her happiness was infectious, and knowing that the pendant meant so much to her made all my worries fade away, if only for a moment. Seeing her beautiful smile made everything worth it.
Reaching home, we stood together for a moment, the feeling of being with her making my heart swell with emotion. As she bid goodbye, I remarked, "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
Her eyes darted between me and the moon, and she stammered, "Ye-yes," her confusion evident. Watching her reaction, I couldn't help but smile, cherishing the moment and the unspoken feelings between us.
Her confused state indicated she wasn't yet aware of the deeper meaning behind the phrase, and I couldn't wait to see her reaction when she found out. The anticipation of that future moment filled me with excitement and warmth.
As we finally parted ways, I made my way back home, my mind replaying the day's events in vivid detail. I thought about the moment she patted my head, how fast my heart had raced, and how badly I had wanted to hug her. Each memory brought a fresh wave of happiness and longing.
Walking back, I couldn't help but reflect on how significant she had become in my life. The simple moments we shared, like today, were now some of my most cherished memories. The thought of her smile, her laughter, and even her confusion made me realize just how deeply I had fallen for her.
Freshening up, I was surprised by her text. Opening it, I saw she had sent our photo, and a bright smile spread across my face without me even realizing it.
As I looked at the photo, I noticed she had posted it on her story but had hidden my face. Why would she do that? Does she not want anyone to know about me? I wondered, deciding to text her.
Me: Why did you hide my face?
A few seconds later, a message popped up.
Aarohi: Because you are a public figure. It might harm your reputation.
