Aarohi POV
"I'm telling you, he's completely whipped for me!" she declared, with a mix of seriousness and amusement in her tone. I couldn't quite read his expression, so I opted to stay quiet.
We all agreed to visit a nearby coffee shop. Mayank and Tara took it upon themselves to interview Advik, probing for every bit of information about him, until he mentioned he would go and order something.
"Paise waali party hai", Mayank quipped, having thoroughly assessed the situation.
[ Looks like, a deep-pocketed player ]"But seems like a tightwad," Tara added, throwing more shade into the mix.
"I'm loaded too," Rajveer confessed with a deadpan expression.
"2-3 crore yaha dedo fir" Mayank quipped, his sarcasm reaching new heights.
[Sure, just slide a few million my way while you're at it]"Now he's putting his affection out there for all to see. I feel a tad guilty knowing I'll have to turn him down," Tara whispered.
Before I could respond, Advik returned with the order and declared, "Treat's on me, guys." "Wow, what a generous soul," Mayank remarked, eyeing the goodies with excitement.
After a bit of gossiping, it was time to bid adieu.
"Put it all on my tab," Rajveer asserted, with a hint of swagger in his tone.
I could sense a tense and icy stare-off between Rajveer and Advik.
"Alright, whoever's coughing up the dough, make it snappy! We'll be chilling by the parking lot," Mayank announced, injecting a bit of humour into the situation.
"Yeah, let's go babies!" Tara chimed in with a playful tone.
"Why are you calling grown adults babies?" Rajveer interjected, his tone tinged with disapproval.
"Now, is someone feeling a little jealous?" Tara continued her whispering spree, with a hint of amusement in her voice.
"Let him foot the bill, I'll wait with you," Rajveer finally lost his patience and spoke up.
After all the commotion, Advik dropped me off at home, while Tara and Mayank rode with Rajveer, who offered to give them a lift.
As I settled down, I couldn't shake the feeling of missing Aarav bhai, especially after his sudden disappearance for a supposed business trip and his absence at my engagement. Despite my initial decision to stay silent, the longing for his presence compelled me to make an exception and give him a call.
"How's my princess?" he greeted, prompting me to reply, "Still Alive, unlike some people, I have a heart, so I decided to reach out."
"Sorry Ruhi, I had to urgently attend to some matters, so I had to leave," he continued, his voice tinged with guilt."Yeah, so that matter is more important than me?" I retorted, unable to conceal my frustration.
He simply muttered "sorry" before I could say anything further. Just then, I noticed a text from Rajveer. Knowing that Rajveer rarely texts, I assumed it must be something important. I quickly replied to Aarav bhai, saying I would call him later, and tapped on the waiting message from Rajveer.
Weirdo: I don't usually stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but for the sake of someone important to me, I'm making an exception. The man we met today, I believe he's your fiancé. I witnessed him engage in intimate activity in a car two days ago.
As soon as I read it, I expected to feel tears welling up, but strangely, that wasn't the case. It was more of a feeling of resignation like I should have seen it coming.
