Dev POV

Experiencing silence after confessing your feelings is incredibly suffocating.

Does she not reciprocate my feelings? Did I make a mistake by telling her now? Should I have waited? These questions raced through my mind as I drove to the location.

Glancing at her while driving, I noticed her confused expression. I never intended to make her uncomfortable, perhaps I should have waited for the right moment. We have plenty of time, I should have approached this more slowly.

Upon arriving at the location, she promptly opened the door and walked away. Her distant behaviour gnawed at me, filling me with regret over my decision.

As we sat down for dinner, my focus remained fixed on her, attempting to decipher her unspoken thoughts. Amidst discussions about our next steps, she unexpectedly interjected with a solemn announcement: "My wedding date has been set for next month." Her tone was resolute and devoid of emotion, leaving me momentarily stunned. I could feel the collective shock in the room at her revelation.

Before anyone could respond, she added, "So, whatever plans we have, we need to execute them swiftly." Tara, displaying confidence and reassurance, chimed in, "Don't worry, Uncle himself will ensure this wedding doesn't happen."

That nuisance of a guy interjected once more, taking her hand, "Hum hain na"
[ We are here for you ]

Can I just chop his hands off? Why is he getting so touchy?

"Bhai, keep it together. Don't give him that look, he seems fragile. He might just collapse!" Devika whispered, nudging me gently to look away.

As I tried to shift my gaze, Rajveer intervened by pulling the guy's hand away, fulfilling my unspoken wish.

But why did he do that? Could it be that he likes Rose? His previous actions didn't suggest that. His eyes fixed on that guy explained a lot. Oh, so he likes this guy. Good for you, Rajveer.

Breaking the silence, I suggested, "Let's schedule a meeting soon to discuss the investment," directing my gaze towards Rajveer. He certainly deserves recognition for what he just did.

To lighten the mood, Monkey asked the group, "What's your go-to activity when you're stressed?" Everyone shared their thoughts while I eagerly awaited her response. Finally, she said, "Walking at dusk, finding tranquillity with music playing in my ears." After her answer, all eyes turned to me. "Holding her hand as we walk," I replied, looking at her.

It caused a small commotion, with them shooting me furtive glances and Rose shifting her gaze away.

After dinner, as everyone stood near the car ready to leave, I approached her and said, "I should have taken it slow. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable. There's no need to hurry, take your time." She shook her head and replied, "It's alright."

Her response confirmed my fear that I had indeed made her uncomfortable.

I had often seen her relaxed and carefree around her friends, genuinely happy in their company.

As I pondered what to say next-"Will you be my friend?" "Mujhse dosti karogi?" "Let's start as friends?"-she surprised me by extending her hand and suggesting, "Let's be friends?"

I wondered if she had read my mind or if I had been too obvious. Shaking off my thoughts, I reached out and shook her hand. Her touch felt unhealthily addictive.

"Are you on Instagram?" she asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. Instagram? My account wasn't personal, it was an official company account. I couldn't miss this chance to start a conversation with her. "I'll add you. What's your ID?" I replied.
