Aarohi POV

When we finally arrived at the boutique, Tara, my fashionista, sprang into action, meticulously sifting through racks of dresses with the precision of a seasoned expert. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, her enthusiasm contagious. As she pulled out gown after gown, each more stunning than the last, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming wave of gratitude. Tara was determined to find the perfect dress, the one that would make this day as magical as I had always imagined.

“Trust me, Ruhi,” she said, holding up a breathtaking dress adorned with intricate embroidery and a trail that seemed to be woven from dreams. “This one will make him fall in love with you all over again.”

I smiled warmly, knowing that with Tara by my side, I was in the best possible hands. Her passion and confidence were exactly what I needed to calm my nerves.

Just as we were immersed in the sea of dresses, my phone rang. I glanced at the screen and saw Mayank’s name flash across it. Without hesitation, I answered, only to be greeted by his panicked voice shouting, "Aarohi! Save me! This man here is going crazy! When are you coming?"

His words were so frantic that it took me a moment to process them. I realized with a jolt that I had completely forgotten to inform Mayank and Rajveer about my engagement. But what on earth was he talking about? Was he in some sort of danger? Concern edged into my voice as I asked, "What are you talking about? Are you okay?"

Mayank’s laughter followed though it did little to ease my worry. "Rajveer’s just been acting all clingy since I got here—he’s not letting me go anywhere!"

I couldn’t help but chuckle at the image of Rajveer, but I also recalled the seriousness of what was happening. "You're on your own with that one, Mayank," I teased lightly. "I’ve got my hands full here—I’m shopping for my engagement tomorrow."

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line, and I imagined the shock registering on Mayank’s face. "What? Tomorrow? And you didn’t tell me?" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of disbelief and excitement.

"Consider yourself officially informed," I replied with a laugh. "But don't worry, I’ll fill you in on all the details later. Right now, my priority is finding the perfect dress!"

"Send me your location. I'm on my way, dragging this clingy person with me," he said in his trademark dramatic fashion. Smiling at his antics, I quickly sent him the location and made my way into the changing room to try on the gown Tara had picked out.

As I was about to start changing, there was a knock on the door. Assuming it was Tara with another dress, I opened it without a second thought—only to be completely caught off guard by the sight of Dev standing there.

"Dev—what are you—" I began, but before I could finish, he slipped inside and put a finger on my lips hushing me down. My eyes widened in surprise as the reality of the situation set in—we were now alone in the changing room, and the suddenness of it all left me momentarily speechless.

"Shh, don’t make a sound," he whispered, a mischievous grin playing on his lips. "Unless you want everyone to know I’m your man."

I rolled my eyes internally at his audacity as if I was the only one at risk of getting caught. But still, the shock of seeing him here—how did he even manage to sneak in?—left me both flustered and oddly thrilled.

"What are you doing here?" I whispered, my voice barely audible as I tried to process his unexpected appearance.

"I couldn’t help myself," he admitted his tone low and teasing. "I wanted to catch a glimpse of my future wife in her engagement dress."
