Aarohi POV

Poor Rajveer, I thought, knowing full well the naughty plans Mayank was likely concocting.

Parting ways with Mayank, I approached Tara and Rajveer. "Rajveer, take it slowly and give him time," I advised. "You both need to communicate patiently. Right now, neither of you knows how to express yourselves, which is causing misunderstandings."

Rajveer nodded, taking my words to heart, while Tara and I decided to head home. Just then, I received a text from Dev and clicked on it.

Dev: Are you angry with me?

A smirk spread across my face as I decided to tease him a bit more.

Me: Why would I be?

I wondered if he would catch the sarcasm and realize I was trying to be playful with my anger. Or was he like other guys, clueless about the deeper meaning behind a girl's words?

Soon, a message popped up on my phone.

Dev: You are indeed angry! I truly don't know that girl, not even her name. I apologize if this has upset you. I'm already working on getting that ridiculous rumour taken down.

I couldn’t help but smile internally at his earnestness and concern. His prompt response and the clear distress in his words revealed how much he cared about my feelings. It was touching to see him so committed to clearing up the misunderstanding, even though I already knew the truth. This situation, although annoying, gave me a glimpse of his sincerity and devotion.

As I reflected on his message, I felt a surge of warmth and affection. Here was a man who valued my feelings and was willing to go to lengths to ensure that I wasn’t hurt or upset. His actions spoke volumes about his character and the depth of his feelings for me. It made me realize that perhaps I had found someone truly special, someone who was different from the rest.

I decided to text him back, but not without a hint of teasing to keep the mood light.

Me: Your apology is noted. But I'll decide whether to forgive you or not after we meet. And next time, be very careful about who you get photographed with.

I hit send, imagining the relief that would probably wash over him upon reading my response. While I enjoyed the playful teasing, it also felt good to let him know that I wasn’t genuinely upset. It was my way of acknowledging his efforts and letting him off the hook, but not without making him sweat a little first.

Dev: Oh, so my Rose wants to see me. Are you missing me?

A blush crept up my cheeks, and a small grin formed as I read his teasing text. He was trying to turn the tables on me, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and affection.

Me: When did I say that?

I sent the reply, knowing full well that denying it completely would be a lie. I did want to see him, but I wasn't about to give in that easily.

As I reached home, Tara and I parted ways. "Next time, try to hide your blush and smile, with more effort," she teased before driving away, leaving me to contemplate my growing feelings for Dev.

Once inside, I reflected on the day's events, my heart fluttering at the thought of seeing him again. Despite the teasing and playful banter, there was an undeniable connection between us that I couldn't ignore.

I entered the house and promptly assisted my mom with preparing dinner, exchanging gossip and enjoying our time together. Once dinner was ready, we all gathered at the table. My Dadi, with her usual sour tone, remarked to my dad, "Find a man for this girl and send her quickly to her home," her words dampening my spirits.
