Dev POVAfter being enchanted by her voice during the musical performance, I found myself completely under her spell. Her voice was truly angelic, and I vividly remembered how fast my heart was beating while being with her under my jacket.
Back in my cabin, I couldn't stop reminiscing about that evening we spent together.
I was abruptly pulled from my thoughts when Aman barged in, teasing me with, "Hey, love-struck Romeo, focus on work, or you'll lose both the girl and the job." I wished I could have strangled him right then and there for his insensitive comment. "Keep your comments to yourself," I retorted sharply.
"You remember the man you spoke with at the grand party, the one who mentioned revealing Akash Sahani's accomplice? He wants to talk with you," Aman informed me. That man could be the link to uncovering the murderer behind it all. I need to extract as much information from him as possible, no matter how small. "Schedule the meeting soon," I commanded Aman firmly.
He nodded and left the cabin, leaving me with my dreamy thoughts. I reminisced about that day—the moments after dropping her off, waiting in the shadows to catch one final glimpse of her. As she arrived, gazing at the stars, she took out a tiny scroll and penned a wish before burying it in the azure sand. Was she feeling sad?
Later, after she fell into a deep sleep, I scaled the balcony and read the note: 'I don't want to marry Advik.' A part of me felt relieved, but another part was concerned about what could have led her to wish for something like this.
No matter what, I vowed to myself—I would not let this marriage happen.
The next evening, I arrived home early and found myself still engrossed in work on my laptop while Devika and Mom were busy in the kitchen. When Mom learned about Rose's engagement, she warned me about being cautious with my future steps, expressing her concern.
Suddenly, Devika's phone rang, and she answered it. After a brief conversation, she ran over and hugged me, teasingly saying, "My old brother will get married!" I gently pulled away and asked her what had happened. She explained, "Tara called me for help. She wants Advik to cancel the marriage, and they're planning something that requires my assistance." Hearing this, I felt like I was on cloud nine. Why were they trying to call off this wedding, I wondered.
"I want to join you," I declared firmly.
Later, we headed to a club where Rose's friend disclosed everything to Devika—well, Devika practically coerced her into revealing everything. Now, we were on our way to execute their plan.
How could someone deceive such a beautiful person? She's like a dream. Well, that's good news for me, now that she's decided she doesn't want to get married.
As we arrived, I stood at a distance, following Devika's instructions not to interfere with their plan—especially since I wasn't even aware of what their plan was.
After a while, chaos erupted on the dance floor, with people running around. I stayed put as instructed by Devika. Soon, the police arrived and took Advik away in handcuffs.
Seeing him being led away brought a sense of satisfaction. He deserved it, that loser.
Once the chaos settled down, Devika signalled me, and we descended downstairs. As we walked, I couldn't help but notice Rose's perplexed and slightly anxious expression.
Was she upset because he was arrested? I found myself wondering.
As we reached them, Rose seemed even more puzzled and asked Tara what was going on.
Tara explained everything, and Rose's eyes lingered on me. At that moment, I felt like she truly saw me, as if my presence mattered to her.
Our eye contact was interrupted when Devika mentioned my presence, but my gaze remained fixed on Rose until Devika suggested that Rose ride with me in the car for dinner.
