Aarohi POV

As I woke up in the morning, I saw a text from him wishing me a good morning. I used to think I was the morning person, but he beat me to it. How much sleep does he even get? Does he sleep at all?

Realizing I was running late, I quickly freshened up and headed downstairs for breakfast. On the way, I overheard the news headline: "The Richest Man, Dev Raichand, is reportedly dating someone." My heart skipped a beat. This news could complicate things, and he must be worried about it. I decided to text him to put his mind at ease.

Me: Hey, I saw the news. Are you okay?

Dev: Yes, I'm fine. Where are you? Be aware of the media. Please let me know if you notice anything unusual.

His text showed just how concerned he was about me. I reassured him not to worry and promised to keep him updated.

Soon, I drove to university with Tara and told her that I was dating Dev.

"What, what, what!!! You’re finally dating, and it’s the richest guy! I hope you are the happiest!" Her voice escalated from excitement to a blessing. That’s how best friends are—always getting happy for you.

"But it’s all over the news, and I’m scared about it," I admitted, voicing my concern.

"Don’t be scared. I’m here for you. No one would dare lay a finger on you. Also, I’m sure Dev must have appointed someone for your safety," she said casually.

Her words didn’t ease my worry. Appointed someone? What does that even mean? Like bodyguard stuff? That would look so bad, and I don’t want to draw any more attention to myself.

As we reached the university, we saw Mayank waiting for us near the gate. The moment he spotted us, he came running and squealing with joy.

"You’re dating! So happy for you!" he exclaimed, his arms outstretched for a hug. Just as he was about to embrace me, someone stopped him. We all turned to see Rajveer pinching Mayank's shirt with two fingers, preventing the hug.

We exchanged glances, and I pressed my lips together to stifle a smile at Rajveer's possessiveness.

"Leave my shirt," Mayank said, shrugging his shoulder to free himself. But his efforts were in vain, Rajveer's grip held firm.

"Let's talk on the terrace. Do not run, or the next moment I will be at your home!" Rajveer announced sternly, leaving Mayank deep in thought.

"Yes, Mayank, whatever it is, you should talk it out with him. Don't leave him hanging," I said, trying to reassure him as I saw his distress.

"Let us know if you need any help," Tara added, offering her support.

"Can you guys be with me there? I'm scared to be alone," Mayank confessed, his fear evident.

I couldn't help but empathize deeply with Rajveer. While Mayank hesitated to draw near, Rajveer trembled at the thought of being apart. His devotion was such that he braved the scalding tongues of others just to remain steadfastly by Mayank's side, unwavering in his commitment despite the harsh judgments that surrounded them.

"I'll be there, but a little distance away. We won't be visible, but if you need us, just call. We'll come right over," I said, consoling him with a pat on the shoulder.

We moved towards the terrace. Mayank approached Rajveer while Tara and I stood behind a pillar, close enough to observe but far enough to give them privacy.

As Tara and I stood by, engaging in our conversation while keeping a discreet watch on Mayank and Rajveer, we could sense the tension between them. Their discussion seemed calm at first, but it quickly escalated. Suddenly, Rajveer's voice cut through the air, "I don't give a shit about others!" The intensity of his outburst made us pause, unsure if we should step in.
