After a night filled with laughter and camaraderie, Jennie, Taehyung, and Rosé made their way back home.

The night air was cool and filled with the soothing sounds of the ocean as they pulled up to the grand house, each of them relaxed and content from the relatively exhausting evening.

"I'm so ready to call it a night." Rosé mumbled as she walked ahead, yet suspiciously pausing at the stair case.

"Why'd you stop?" Taehyung asked as he and Jennie walked to catch up to her.

As they walked up the grand staircase leading to the front door, they noticed something unusual—a beautiful bouquet of flowers placed carefully on the steps.

The arrangement was elegant and understated, with rich hues of deep purple and soft whites.

"Looks like someone sent you a congratulatory bouquet," Rosé said with a smile, nudging Jennie playfully.

"Better not be from a guy." Taehyung joked as he held the door open for Jennie, who smiled as she picked it up.

Assuming it was from one of her many supporters or friends who had attended her debut, she took it inside, inhaling the fresh, sweet scent.

"Let's see who it's from," she said, her curiosity piqued.

The three of them entered the house, all splitting up as soon as the door closed to go to their own rooms to freshen up and whatnot.

With the bouquet in her hands, Jennie found the small card tucked among the flowers. Her hands trembled slightly as she opened it, expecting a friend's familiar handwriting or a colleague's well-wishes.

However, the note inside was starkly simple and not at all what she had anticipated:

Congratulations, you did good. - Dad.

Jennie's breath caught in her throat. The handwriting was undeniably her father's, whom she hadn't spoken to since their fallout over his actions prior to her mother's death.

The emotions she had managed to keep at bay regarding her family came rushing back all at once. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she found herself unable to hold back the flood of feelings.

The floodgates opened, and she wept, her body shaking with each sob. She cried for the father she once knew, the mother she missed every day, and the little girl who thought her family was unbreakable.

Hearing the soft rustle of paper and then a sudden silence, Taehyung peeked into Jennie's room, concerned. He found her standing by her bed, the bouquet forgotten on the floor, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Jennie?" Taehyung's voice was soft and filled with worry. He quickly closed the distance between them, pulling her into a gentle embrace. "What's wrong?"

"It's... it's from my dad," Jennie managed to say between sobs, handing the card to Taehyung. The weight of her estrangement from her father, combined with the shock of his unexpected acknowledgment, overwhelmed her.
