Brooklyns POV

I'm so excited the day is finally here. My best friend is getting married. Well, my brother too.

I love weddings. They always remind me of what can really happen in the future if you try hard enough and find the right person, your soulmate.

I like to think that I found that. (Him)

I got to the venue at 3. The wedding starts at 5 so we have 2 hours to get makeup, hair and get dressed. Remember the thing I said about being late lately well lately is today. Being late always gets me stressed out and I hate being stressed out. But no matter how early I leave somehow or another I always end up being late.

"You look absolutely stunning, Camry" I say as we are about to walk down the aisle. "Do you really think so?" She asks me. "Girl, are you seriously doubting yourself right now, you look like the prettiest girl in town, much less ugly" I say. Camry laughed. It worked. I love to make her laugh in serious situations.

"Well look what we have here to beautiful young women" Tanner says as he comes over to us. "Is it almost time?" Camry asks and I nod my head.

"Okay goodbye, see you in a few minutes" I say, giving Camry a kiss on the cheek. I turn to Tanner who has his arm out for me smiling. "What are you so smiley about?" I ask him. "Can't I just smile"

"No Tanner doesn't just smile in big occasions like this"

"Well maybe Tanner is smiling because he gets to walk the prettiest girl down the aisle"

I just blush. This man. I can't with him.

It's me and Tanner turn to walk out. We start off towards Dylan. We reach the front and I go to the Left side and Tanner goes beside Dylan. The doors open and the crowd stands. Camry appears looking stunning. She walks herself down the aisle and looks so confident while doing so.

I look over at my brother who is tearing up at the sight of his soon to be wife.

"I promise that I will always be there to hold your hand and to hold you close when times are hard" Camry says her vows to Dylan. I can't help but tear up a little while she does it. I look across and see Tanner looking at me. Can you imagine if this was us one day. If we were getting married.

I would like that. I would like to spend the rest of my life with Tanner, Hell I would love to.

The wedding ends and we have to get bridal party pictures. Of course everyone's favorite thing is taking pictures. But my family hates taking pictures. They always get so grouchy and yell at each other to where it makes taking them not fun for anyone.

But today luckily everyone cooperated and we got the picture over within no time. Dylan and Camry had their first dance and it was the cutest thing ever. Then it was time for everyone else to dance.

Tanner held out his hand as a cue for me to dance with him. I take it and we head out to the dance floor. "Do you remember the first time we danced?" I asked Tanner. "Yeah, it was at the kindergarten kick off dance". "Yeah" I agree and we both start laughing.

"Did you ever go to prom?" I asked Tanner. "Well yeah of course I got prom king senior year."

"Shut up, really no way" I thought about something.

"Omg when you were at your high school senior prom I was in my dorm room studying" I say a little weirded out.

"You just can't get over the fact that you're old," Tanner says.

"Oh no sir I am not old I am only one year older than you"

"Hey you were the one who pointed it out, not me. So if you want to blame anyone for calling you old, blame yourself." He says "Okay, Okay that's fair" I say.

It came time for the Bouquet toss. I have never after all the weddings I have been to I have never once caught one of them. "You've got this" Tanner says, giving me a thumbs up. " I point at him and then Camry throws the bouquet. I caught it. For once I actually caught it. Camry could not stop laughing when I caught it and neither could Tanner.

"Well good job" Tanner said when I got back to the table. "Yeah, Call me a pro now" I say. "Just don't expect something soon," He says. "So you're saying there is something sometime?" I asked. Tanner just shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, maybe"

"Are you ready to go?" I ask Tanner. "What, are you ready to go already?" He questions me. "I have work in the morning and I want to get home" I say through clenched teeth hoping that Tanner gets the hint of why I want to go home.

"Are you sur-" I widened my eyes and then he finally got the memo. "Oh yeah, I'm ready to go home," he says. Tanner stands up, grabs me and we say goodbye to Dylan and Camry and we were out of there in a matter of minutes.

_____________

"Oh my gosh I've missed you so much" I say bringing Ryleigh into a hug when she entered the salon. "It's so cool to be here" she tells me.

"Okay so what are we thinking?" I ask her when I get her seated in the chair.

"Okay so, I don't know but I think I want to go dark" she says.

"Dark? Like dark dark?"

"Like Black-Brown dark"

"How did you know that is my favorite color to do?" I say putting the cape around her and walking over to my cabinet to grab my supplies.

"So how are you and Tanner?" Ryleigh asks me when I am done with her hair and now curling it. "We're really good," I say smiling. For the first time I feel like we actually are good and there is nothing, no drama going on right now. Knock on wood.

"I'm happy for you," she says. "So you got anyone on the roster" I ask. "No, I mean not really. There are no good guys at my school and no one has ever really liked me". "I'm sure that's not true" I tell her.

"Maybe, but it seems like no one ever pays any attention to me. Like I am always like the floater friend. If someone's friend bails then I am the second choice. I'm always the one walking behind the people in school, not walking beside them. I don't have a best friend and I never have and I probably never will."

My heart hearts for Ryleigh. I know that there was one point in my high school experience where I felt that way sometimes but I always have had Camry there to support me and I always had someone there for me. I can't imagine what Ryleigh feels like.

I stopped curling her hair for her second and looked in the mirror to make eye contact with her. I bent down and put my head on her shoulder.

"Consider me your new best friend" I tell her. She just gives me one of the most genuine smiles I have ever seen. I go back to doing her hair.

"So what are you doing next week?" I ask her. "Um nothing really, I'm still on winter break" she tells me. "So what would you think about going to the mall sometime then?" I ask. "I would love to"

I take the cape off of her and she stands up. She literally looks breathtaking. I don't even know how she thinks that no one has ever liked her. "So what do you think?" I ask. "I love it. It looks so good". "Y0u are the one who looks so good it's just hair"

"Thank you for today Brooklyn. You don't know how much I needed to hear what you said."

Trust me I do know somewhat. I know that when I was a senior in high school that I was going through the motions. I was depressed, I had very high anxiety and every single thing I thought about. Well to be honest I still overthink everything and I do still suffer with anxiety but nothing like what I used to.

"I love you" I say and give Ryleigh a hug goodbye and then watch her leave.
