Tanner's POV

She remembers she remembers me. Thoughts fill my head as I think about her. We talked until 2am and I am so tired, I can't sleep and it's 3:30am. But I can't stop thinking about how I wished I would have kissed her and told her that I had liked her when we were kids and I never stopped thinking about her after she moved away. And how I liked her now.

But I couldn't tell her. Not now. She doesn't feel the same way she never has and never will.

I can't believe it's been a week since we got to Camp. We only have one week left and then we have to go back home to the real world.

I made myself a cup of coffee and walked over to my table and ate my waffle. I still had Brooklyn on my mind.

"What are we doing today Tanner?" Hunter asked me. "Uh, today we are going to the pool and the waterslides" I told him. "Sick, I can't wait" Someother kid said.

After breakfast we went back to the cabin and got changed. Then we walked over to the pool. Brooklyn's cabin was there but not Brooklyn. Just her assistant counselor Hannah. I walked over to her.

"Hey Hannah, where's Brooklyn?" I asked. "She's in the Cabin, She didn't get any sleep last night and doesn't feel good."

"Oh well tell her I hope she feels better" I say and then walk back over to my chair by the pool. I'm kind of disappointed that I don't get to see Brooklyn today. After our talk last night I know it's going to be awkward but I still love talking to her and seeing her.

Brooklyn didn't come outside for the whole day so while everyone was at Dinner I decided to go and see her. I walked into her cabin and knocked on her door. "Hannah, I told you I don't want to come out" she groaned.

I opened the door. "Not Hannah," I said and walked over to her. "Hey" she said. "How are you feeling?" I asked. "Not good, I have a bad headache and my back is killing me". "It probably hurts from carrying the winning team to victory" I couldn't help but say.

She laughed. I love the way she laughs, the smile that comes on her face. It's still the same laugh. God she looked hot. Her hair in a messy bun and a big t-shirt laying in the bed with no makeup.

"What did yall do today?" she asked me. "Just go out to the pool and go on the waterslides" I told her. "Damn, I missed the pool," she said. "Yeah you missed seeing Leighton push me into the pool." I said and we both laughed.

"Ugh, it feels like there is a boulder sitting on my forehead." she says. "I'm sorry, is there anything I can get you?" I ask. "Could you get me a cup of tea, maybe that will help".

I got up and walked out into the kitchen and made her a cup of peppermint tea. "Oh my god, thank you so much" she said, taking the mug". "No problem" I said and started out towards the door"

"Tanner," she said. "Yeah, what is it?". "Can you stay with me?". I walked over to the side of her bed and laid down beside her. My arm around her. "Thank you" she said, lifting her head up to look at me. It was a piercing look, one you could never forget.
