The summer sun shines bright in the sky. The water looks inviting, with small whispers to cool my heated skin from the humid air.

Bringing my hand up, using the back of my hand to wipe the perspiration from my forehead. My hair hangs down just barely in my line of sight as I stare at the boat motor in front of me.

"Get it running again?" My boss, Saul, calls out from further up the dock.

"Got to start it to see." I smirk and stand from the motor. The few steps to the dashboard of the boat, I flip the switch and the motor turns over with ease.

With a satisfied grin, I turn the motor off and work on putting the cap back over the motor. Once tightening the few bolts down, I stand up and grab the tools used before stepping back on the dock and off the boat. As I walk the dock bobs up and down from the ripples within the water.

"Any boats need to be ready for today?" I look to Saul and he shakes he head.

"None today, just a work as we can."

I shake my head. "Still means the owners will be calling because of the holiday coming up. More people enjoy spending it on the water."

Saul nods with a sigh then his head jerks to look at me. "The new girl is doing well this week. Don't be scaring her off." He smirks and I mirror.

"Saul." I drag his name out. "You know me, I am a ladies man. I would never scare a lady off."

"High confidence could." Saul chuckles. "There will be a day you find the one, the love of your life but you can't go scaring off the person with a big ego."

I push his shoulder lightly. Before I smirk once more and walk to the back of the shop, where Saul and I store the tools right inside the employee lounge space.

Saul has been a great boss who has become a friend over the short time being here. He has a wife that has come to the boat shop and worked some between workers for the front.

That has been a trouble for the boat shop, there has been many front desk workers. Sadly, not a one has stayed long. Many do not like handling the gear for fishing or boating equipment. The live bait is the area that tends to scare many workers off.

This is a job I have enjoyed since retiring from the Navy and moving here to be close to my baby sister and her family. The weather is warm year round, for the most part, very little snow here and the coldest times still doesn't reach that of the temperatures my hometown reached in the winter time.

Life has been good. Samuel is now twelve and Simon is two. Kaira and Erik are still that cute couple, I couldn't be happier for them.

My phone rings and I wipe my hand on the dry clothe before pulling it out. A smile on my face as I answer the call.

"Hi, Sammy."

"Uncle Josh." Samuel sighs. "Are you still working?"

"I am but about to take lunch. Everything okay?"

"Everything is perfect. Did you see that Racing-A-Moto is out? I don't have anyone to take me to the store so I can buy it. Mama is working in the Diner and Dad is in meetings with Daryl today. Simon is with Mason today and school was let out early."

"How about I use my lunch time to take you?"

"Really? Thank you Uncle Josh!" Samuel hangs up a moment later.

I chuckle and go to the restroom to clean from the mess work has caused this morning. As I come out of the restroom, I see Saul with Regina as she waves. I wave back with a smile. "I am going to leave out for lunch and be back in thirty."

"Take your time kid." Saul chuckles. "You work harder than I do. Enjoy your lunch at your sisters Diner."

"I am taking my nephew out to get a new game that is available for purchase now."

Saul chuckles and I leave out the back door with keys in hand. As the door closes I hear just a little from an angelic voice. "Saul. Where do you keep the lures for bass?"

I don't turn quick enough to get a glimpse of the lady as the door is shut. Part of me wants to open the door to see a glimpse of her. Her voice was so soft. Softer than any voice I've heard before, but it would make me look strange. Like, 'Don't mind me, just seeing if your face is as angelic as your voice.' Talk about a corny pick up line.

Being thirty-five, I am ready to find the love of my life. Sleeping around stopped a long time back before retiring from the Navy. A couple dates has happened since but none lasted when one had issues with my job being dirty was a no-go for her and the other was not wanting a serious relationship.

I turn the truck off and walk into the Diner. Kaira waves. "What would you like for lunch today?"

"I am actually going to take Samuel out to the store." I lean on the doorframe to the kitchen and he comes walking from the office. "Ready to go?"

"Almost." Samuel smiles and turns to Terry. I can't make the words out before he comes up to me and we wave to Kaira before getting in the truck.

"This a two player game?"

"Sure is. Though this one you get to build your own vehicle."

"Sweet." I smile as I drive through town with ease.

"Uncle Josh?"

"Yeah Sammy?" I look at him after parking the truck.

"When do I get to drive?"

I chuckle. "You got just a few years left."

Samuel sighs and we get out of the truck. "What about driving a boat? Can I do that?"

I tilt my head back and forth. "Possible but will your Mom let you in one?"

Samuel groans and tilts his head back. "Doubt that."

I laugh and pat his back before we go into the store. Samuel buys the game and we are back at the Diner in no time.

"Wait before you leave." Samuel jumps from the truck.

He runs inside the Diner and comes back out with a bag. "Your lunch. It is a meatball sub with loaded potato skins."

"Awesome. Thanks Sammy."

"Couldn't let you go without lunch. Thank you for taking me to the store, I am going to play the game until Mama is off work."

I laugh as he dashes back into the Diner. I put my truck in reverse after placing the bag in the seat next to me.
