I walk back into the boat shop with my lunch and see a young boy sitting at the table.

"Hello." I smile and nod to which he does the same. "I'm Josh. I hadn't seen you around before."

"I'm new here. I'm Jade."

I nod as he looks up to me then his eyes widen. "Nice to meet you Jade. Is there anyone with you?"

It isn't uncommon for Saul or Regina to bring a youngster to hang out within the employee lounge since there is a television for them to watch as the parents shop the boats available for purchase. Plus, we have the tool boxes all locked up so they can't hurt themselves on anything.

"My Aunt. She is around here somewhere." He looks around then his eyes land on the bag in my hand.

"Have you had lunch?"

He shakes his head.

"Here." I smile and place it on the table.

"I couldn't. That is your lunch." He shakes his head and never reaches for the bag.

"It would actually do me a favor. I'm not hungry and it would be a shame for this good food to go to waste."

Jade slowly reaches for the bag and thanks me. I nod and walk over. "This will operate the television there so you can watch anything while you wait for your Aunt."

"Thank you mister."

"Josh." I smirk and he laughs. "Very nice manners but your more than welcome to call me Josh."

He nods and I smile. My feet move over to the tool boxes and unlock it, taking the tools out that will be needed before locking it back up. I leave the building and walk back over to my truck for a brief moment.

I unlock my truck and open the back door. Opening the small bag I keep in the back, I pick up a granola bar and eat it quickly before also eating a banana. Closing the door back, I pick up the tool bag and making it down to the docks. I stop to grab the clipboard Saul keeps in a small shack to look over the list of things to do. I grab the paint and supplies from the shack to finish the last coat on the side trim for the boat here the longest.

The hours pass and somehow paint ends up on my skin. I can feel as it cracks when I extend my elbows while cleaning the brush on a dry cloth. One close look over the trim, I nod.

A whistle has my head turning. "Kid you got talent. There isn't a brush stroke one in that paint job." Saul chuckles, as I take in his greasy appearance.

"Get in a fight with the grease gun again Saul?" I chuckle has he huffs. "This one will be ready for the owners to pick up tomorrow."

"I will have Rachel call them. She said she would help with calling them too, so any boats finished just take the slip and place on her desk at the end of the day would ya."

I nod. "Sure." Gripping the clipbaord, I move the tags around to hold the finished one in place until evening to take them inside.

Saul and I part as we move to work on more boats until clock out time. Just as I turn the wrench, I curse the bolt that must have been placed with cement. "Josh?"

My hold slips once more and the metal to knuckles impacting sound is never one of humor, as I curse and shake my hand. "Yeah?" I call out and raise up from the motor that I have been trying to work on from a boat that runs reverse of what it shows on the dash. If it is in forward then the boat goes in reverse. Talk about a strange day on the lake when learning of that little nifty issue.

"Time for the day." Saul waves his hand and I hang my head before nodding. "You lose track of time and I don't want you out here until moonlight again."

"That was one time Saul." I call back before chuckling. "Besides, that was a boat needed for work. So, I needed to make sure it was finished for the owner."

Saul chuckles and nods as I step up to him with the tool bag in hand. "Let me have the slips. I will place them on Rachel's desk tonight. You need to get that cleaned up." He nods to my bloody knuckles.

I hand him the slips from the boats finished before walking into the building. The tools are placed in the toolbox and locked up for the night, as I leave the building and Saul walks past with the slips of paper.

With a sigh, I sit back in the truck and turn the radio on. Listening in mainly for the weather forecast the station does within a short time of me clocking out of work.

'Sun shines and humid days for the next two days. Rain expected to reach our zone on the third day. Be on the listen for the next forecast as we gather more on the rain to come as a low front moves in.'

Grand. I shake my head and flip the radio to some music from my playlist before putting the truck in drive. The journey home is a breeze even with the afternoon traffic. Many people wave and smile in passing on the streets.

Parking the truck, my stomach naws at itself. I flip through the keys until my apartment key is in my fingers and I open the door. Tossing the keys into a bowl on the table by the door, I close and lock the door then pull my phone out. A hum coming from me as I lean against the door and place a food order to be delivered.

My philly subs sound good but I don't want to shower and then cook for an hour before eating. No the mood currently is shower and by then delivery will be here within a short time after.

I walk to my room and remove my clothes before standing under the water. Feeling as the water relaxes the muscles as I clean from the day at work. The paint a bit more trying when removing it from my skin, and leaves my skin a red tint in the area having to clean over so much.

By time I am out and put a pair of shorts on, the doorbell chimes and I walk to the door to get the Japanese food ordered. Flipping the television on, I open the food containers as the horror movie plays on the screen.
