Rachel moves to town and begins her job as the new front desk worker for the boat shop. She sees this man every day at work but is to shy to talk with him.
One day s...

The games continue as everyone goes from guessing the first letter of the babies name, bobbing for the pacifier, blind diaper changing, who could pop the balloons hanging from the dock's roof, and then guessing the flavors of applesauce. Each person got to win a chance on giving their gifts.
"Now that all the games are done how about we take a piece of paper and write a note for the baby to read when older." Fran holds up the pens and a large notepad. We done it for Samuel at his last birthday party and then for Simon when Kaira was pregnant with him. All the adults take a sheet of paper and pen before the chatter quietens as they write notes for our baby girl when she is older to read.
Jade, Samuel, and Simon walk over with a bag in each of their hands.
"Aunt Rachel." Jade smiles and she turns to him. "I got this for my baby cousin." He holds the bag out.
Rachel takes it and he sits on the dock by her feet. Samuel and Simon following suit while holding their bags.
I watch as she opens the bag and then covers her mouth. "Where did you get this?"
"Uncle Josh took me shopping." Jade smiles and my throat clogs up lightly.
Rachel pulls out a baby blanket with a cardinal on it. Then the medium size picture we had made up that reads, Some arms may not get to hold you but will always be with you. With small pictures of stars in the galaxy.
"I can't wait to hang it in her room." Rachel brushes her fingers over the glass and places it beside her.
Rachel motions to Jade and she hugs him tight. When Rachel lets him go Samuel holds up his bag and she smiles. "Thank you Sammy." He smiles wide and sits puts his hands together watching Rachel open his small bag. Inside she pulls out a pack of pacifiers with cats on them and then a box. "Oh Sammy thank you. She will love this on her crib." I bend down and see it is one of those crib mobile pieces that is battery operated to spin slowly and this one has lullabies too as the little decorations are cats.
Simon gets up and hands his bag to Rachel. "Thank you Simon." She hugs him and he climbs into her lap as she opens the small bag. There are rattles and she smiles. "She will love playing with these."
"Baby play with them. They make noise to help baby laugh." Simon smiles.
"They sure will." Rachel kisses his cheek and he hugs her again.
"Who is ready for cake?" Fran calls out and Simon is quick to get off Rachel's lap and find Erik's arms.
I help Rachel from the chair. "Thanks." She mumbles and waddles over as Fran waves her to come up.
I smirk seeing the cake is a purple color with gray trim and the words 'Baby Incoming' written in cursvie. Rachel and Fran cut the cake and plating pieces before Kaira hands Rachel a plate and chases her off. The chase not hard once Kate put a bottle of lemonade in her other hand. I laugh as Rachel waddles over and begins eating her cake and drinking her beverage of choice.
"You ready to experience the birthing process?" Erik claps my back as I put my plate in the trash bin that was brought down.
"More than ever. I have read up on everything."
Erik laughs. "That does help."
"But experiencing it will be different from reading it." Kaira pokes my rib as she passes to the trash holding Simon.
"Samuel is so happy when we had told him that Jade will be staying with us while Rachel has the baby." Kaira smiles.
"So is Jade." I nod and look to see them writing on a piece of paper by the gift table. "I am going to get the gifts into the car."
"I will help get the gifts to the car." Erik nods as I walk to the table where they all lay.
We work together and the others pitch in. We get everything into the car within one trip with ease, just figuring out how to place everything to fit. As I walk down to the dock, Rachel smiles seeing me and waddles over. I wrap an arm around her waist and kiss her softly.
"Did we surprise you?"
Rachel laughs. "Sure did. This was all so much fun but my back is hurting some."
"Let's go home." I kiss her again and Jade skips over.
We bid everyone a bye before I drive us home and Rachel rests her head on the window with her eyes closed. I rub her shoulder when I park the car.
"You sit here and rest. I am going to get all the gifts into the nursery." I kiss her lips after sitting her on the couch. Jade jumps in to help bring the gifts inside. We have it done in no time.
Rachel has the tv on as I sit next to her, I lean over and bring her feet to my lap. I begin massaging her feet and her head leans back with a small hum from her throat.
"I wasn't on my feet but that feels so good."
I chuckle and begin the other foot.
Small snores come from Rachel and Jade laughs quietly as he looks up from the book in his hands. I move Rachel's legs and wash my hands before walking to the kitchen and Jade skips in.
"What are you making?"
"More of the philly cheesesteak subs. We are out and I figure we could all use something else to eat since the baby shower had more finger and lighter foods."
Jade nods. "I am a bit hungry but was going to get chips, though that sounds much better."
I chuckle and Jade works on the peppers again as he has done many times now. I smirk seeing him drop some pieces for Princess and Chuckles as they beg. Just as the food finishes up and I am putting the subs together Rachel walks over rubbing her bump.
"You are pefect." She kisses my lips before I hand her the plate I finished making after Jade's.
