Josh has been working at the boat shop for two years after retiring from the Navy.
Rachel moves to town and begins her job as the new front desk worker for the boat shop. She sees this man every day at work but is to shy to talk with him.
One day s...

Rings. Rings. Rings. I think I even dream of them but have yet to find one that just screams at me it is the one for Rachel.
A knock comes on my front door and I walk over, opening the apartment door to see Erik, Samuel and Simon standing there. "Hey guys." I move and let them walk in.
"Hi, Uncle Josh." Samuel gives a quick hug before Erik does the side hug thing and I take Simon into my arms.
"What are you guys up to today?" It is the few days the boat shop is closed and I am off work. "I thought you were visiting with your parents?"
Erik shakes his head and sighs. "They canceled last minute. Then your Mom and Dylan are out on a cruise somewhere."
I nod remembering the conversation with Mom a couple weeks back they had won this all exclusive cruise trip. So her and Dad were taking it and rightfully so. Mom has finally started slowing down with work too and there are times that Erik and Kaira make the trip back to our home town to spend a day with them if they don't make the trip here. Though, even after these few years things are still awkaward with Erik's parents from what Kaira said since they are more of the snotty type. They never let the boys play and get dirty which is just mind blowing in my opinion all kids should be able to get dirty playing outside but they think otherwise.
"So we came here to see you since Dad said you weren't with Rachel today." Samuel smiles.
"No, she had a girl thing." I ruffle Samuels hair and he brushes it down before he looks ready to pounce but stops when he realizes that Simon is in my arms, so he settles for a huff.
The knock on the door sounds once more and I walk over to open it. There stands Jade and Rachel. She smiles wide and rubs Simon's back, with us standing close. "Sorry to bother you."
"No bother at all." I smile and invite them in but Rachel shakes her head.
"I am meeting with Kaira, Kate and her wife. Jade was wondering if he could hang with you?"
I nod. "Sure, come on in." I smile as Jade walks in and greets Samuel and Erik. "Can't blame him for not wanting to be involved with girl time."
Rachel laughs and nods. Simon wiggles so I sit him on the ground and he runs over to Samuel and Jade. I lean down and kiss Rachel's lips before she pulls back with a wide smile and waves before leaving.
"Aunt Rachel has been all smiles this morning." Jade smiles when I walk over from closing the door.
I smile and Erik looks to me. "We expressed the 'I love yous' a month ago."
Which is hard to believe another month has passed us since then. Rachel is officially in her second trimester of pregnancy and at the last doctor appointment I got so many different reading material. In a months time I have learned all I could learn to help Rachel and be more prepared as the doctor put it when I asked with a smile on her face.
"Uncle Josh are you still looking?" Samuel exclaims and I look over to see him and Jade on the couch in front of where my computer was sitting.
"I am." I nod with a sigh. "I have yet to find one I like for Rachel." Then my mind clicks. "Jade!" He looks up to me. "Do you know what she may like?"
He shakes his head. "No, Aunt Rachel was the one to never look at jewelry or wear any."
I sigh and Erik pats my back. "Got any ideas?"
Erik laughs. "We could all jump into the car and go out looking a couple towns over or I can drive us to the city? We are sure to find something there."
"Sounds great!" I nod and the boys jump off the couch racing for Erik and I, while holding Simon's hand. "Lunch will be on me."
"I know just the place to go too." Erik smiles.
"Pizza?" Samuel pipes up and Jade puts his hands together.
"There is a place in the city where you watch them make the house dough and roll it out while yours is cooking which they will prepare with toppings in front of you then it goes into a brick oven." Erik hums and my mouth waters having known a couple times that brick oven pizza is among the best.
"Let's go!" I smile and we all leave out the apartment. "Maybe this time I can have some peppers for a side." I mumble as Erik starts the large SUV.
"What?" Erik chuckles.
"Peppers. If you want them at my house then you have to have them on the counter because Chuckles will steal those off your plate in a fast strike." Jade laughs and Samuel joins.
"Dad, could we find a baby raccoon to safe?" Samuel looks at the back of Erik's head.
"Let's not." Erik grimaces.
"That is okay because Aunt Rachel doesn't mind you being over and you can visit Chuckles then." Jade laughs and Samuel nods.
Every weekend these two were spending time together. Samuel even got Jade on a bicycle recently, much to Rachel's amazement. He wasn't bad either, one tiny scrap of the kneecap but overall he done great when we went to the park and the girls had their day the last time. Rachel has truly been hitting it off with Kaira and Kate, which makes me happy to see her and Jade have friends in this town.
"I got one question for you Jade." I turn in the seat and he looks over to me from handing Simon a little stuffed animal. "Would you be okay if I marry Rachel?"
Jade smiles wide and nods quickly. "I would really like for you to marry Aunt Rachel. I haven't seen her smile so much in a long time or laugh like she does when you are around. Even when you are not at the house, Aunt Rachel is still happy and smiling. You make her happy."
My heart warms and I turn back around.
"Now which shop to go to first for the ring?" Erik hums.
"Which ever one you sugggest." I shrug and rub my temple. "I think something a bit on the smaller side and not flashy would be more of her type with just how she is and knowing what Jade mentioned about her not wearing jewelry before much."
Erik nods and smiles. "Then I know just the place. It is a bit expensive but the owner has every piece made and one of a kind type deal."
I smile with a nod. "Step on it then." We all laugh and Erik shakes his head while mumbling about obeying the speed laws.
